Inquisition on ski areas!! (1)

For a significant portion of our fellows, Christmas is a good opportunity to come in contact with the nature and indulge in the most popular winter sports, skiing. Below we present our ski greek centers, with their pros and cons.

Parnassos Ski Center

(+) : Only two hours from Athens, the excellent organization and the twelve-hour operation on Saturday (8.00-20.00) that inspired the institution of sunset ski.

(-) : It is so close to Athens, so it attracts almost all Athenians.If you want ... privance is not the ideal ski resort for you. Also, the prices are rather steep.

Vasilitsa Ski Center

(+) : It is one of the first ski areas to open every year with excellent snow quality and good infrastructure, Also, it is one of the most beautiful corners of Greece, the slopes of Pindos. It also has probably the best rates in the country.

(-) : For those who lives in south Greece, this center is quite far.

Kalavryta Ski Center

(+) : Ιt's only 200 km from Athens and organizes regular activities (night skiing, hiking in the magic nature, etc.)

(-) : With 100,000 visitors a year, is not exactly what we would call the ideal ski resort for seclusion. It is also rather pinched than other ski centers.

Kaimaktsalan Ski Centre

(+): It is the ski center with the highest altitude in Greece (has lift at 2,480 meters!), which ensures excellent quality snow and a longer season. The slopes are famous for the large width and the gentle slopes.

(-) : It is quite isolated, so if you don't live near Edessa, is rather far from you.

Ski Center 3-5 Pigadia

(+) : The artificial snowfall systems features ensure excellent quality snow on most days of the year. It is considered one of the best organized ski areas of the country and it's hosting international matches.

(-) : The 557 kilometers from Athens.

Velouchi Ski Centre (Karpenisi)

It is well organized and expanded. This year has a new aerial lift.

Frequently organizes activities and events such as night skiing. It is also very easily accessible: Karpenisi town is only 10 km from this ski center. (+):

(-) : Not recommended fo rcouples, as it is a center which was frequented by families with young children.

Pelion Ski Centre

(+): Ιt is located in the heart of Greece, as well as equidistant from the most popular airports of our country (Athens + Thessaloniki). It's worth for the easy accessibility, low prices and its location between the picturesque villages.

It has only three slopes with low altitude (at 1421 meters), which means short snow season and qualities that will satisfy basically novice skiers. Note also that only works until 16.00 pm.
