5 reasons why Kalamata is the ideal destination for a 20-year-old guy.

1)Beach in the city

Kalamata has perhaps the largest urban beach from all the greek cities. It is very clean and along are too good options in cafes, bars and taverns with FREE sunbeds – when in other cities you have to give to pay a lot of money for only an umbrella!! It is no coincidence that most of the tourists go in the sea from the mornings and leave in at nights.

2) Plenty of luxurious hotels

The prices don’t usually expencive, even in the most luxurious hotels, so it is necessary to make a good research to find appropriate accommodations. However, there are more economical but very valuable options to stay. For my personal experience, I traveled in Kalamata last summer and I stayed in a very economical hotel, which I had found it in a platform called Hostelbay.com.

3) Nightlife

In essence it has an excellent nightlife! I will tell you that there are endless options to enjoy yourself whatever the kind of music you hear. At summer, you will drink your coctails mostly in a lot of beach bars, , without this meaning that it will not pass well in other places such as at the beautiful historic city center.

4) Gastronomy

The Messinian cuisine has been recognized as one of the best in Greece and at abroad they have a marvelous opinion about the food and our delicacies. There are plenty of gourmet options, such as sausage with orange, the delicious varieties of seafood and meat, etc. There are very good options between taverns & restaurants. The prices are very reasonable.

5) In the vicinity ...

In Messinia you have the opportunity to visit an other cities, expert from Kalamata, such as Mani, Koroni, Methoni, Pylos and other many, beautiful areas, which deserve all can visit and explorations, enjoying the Messinian beauty and hospitality. Personally, I love Mani with the beautiful Kalogria’s beach, one of the most beautiful in Greece, with silky sand and turquoise waters. From the other hand in Pylos lies Costa Navarino, probably the most luxurious resort in the country.
