Nafplion 2017- Top Beaches Arvanitia
Kind of Beach: Pebbled on its center. Rocky on its edges, access through small metallic ladders. Middle sized beach, sandy and small pebbled. Sea bottom: Sandy. Access: Driving or walking the uphill road, next to the Arch of Land, one will find the large parking space, leaving the center of Nafplio behind him. Then, you will have to follow the steps which will lead you directly to the main part beach. Location: Probably the nearest to Nafplio beach, behind the city centre, on the south of Akronafplia. Facilities: Cafeteria, deck chairs, showers, rented sun umbrellas, W.C Additional Information: Free parking space provided in the area. On the left of the parking lot, one can see the gravel road, connecting the Arvanitia beach with that of Karathona. It is a route, pleasantly through greenery and astounding views. On the right of the parking lot, the stone-paved path leads to the small-sized shops of Nafplio port, a step away from the waves washing themselves ashore. The name given to the route is "the Arvanitia route" and what is offers is an amazing view of the bay of Argolida.
Tolo
Kind of Beach: Sandy, as is its seabed. Very thin sand. Relatively large beach, proper for children and family, shallow waters. Access: One can access the beach by car or on foot if the place of residence is Tolo itself. There is a large, free parking area, pararrel to the shores and along the shoreline. Location: The beach is located in Tolo area. The exact location of the beach can be tracked down in the section: Facilities: Perhaps the best-equipped summer beach of Argolida prefecture. Namely, Cafeterias, taverns, deck chairs, rented summer umbrellas, W.C, showers, sea sports. Additional Information: A relatively large beach, offering its waters to all ages and tastes. Its crystal clear waters dazzle all sea lovers, especially during morning hours, when the sun's reflection transforms it into an open air swimming pool.
Kastraki
Kind of Beach: Tiny pebbled, sandy. Rocky on its right edge. Small scaled beached, sandy seabed. Access: On foot, if place of residence is Tolo or by car. Attention to be paid on the following directions. First, you have to reach Ancient Assini beach and then follow the narrow gravel road on the left. Then, go past the entrance of a camping site and a tiny "tower" and you will be directly driven to the beach. Location: Next to the historical site of Ancient Assini. The exact location of the beach can be tracked down in the section: Facilities: There is none. Be sure that you have been equipped with all tha might be necessary for a beach. Additional Information: A beautiful beach, just like that of Plaka beach. Free parking space in the entrance of the beach.
Plaka
Kind of Beach: Small and large pebbled. Quite large as a beach, interchanging. Seabed mainly sandy with some big plaques. Access: On foot (from Drepano area) or by car along the beach-line. There are two ways to reach beach Plaka, either from Drepano area, going past the village's main square or driving down the road connecting Assini with Drepano. Location: Next to Drepano. Additional Information: Free parking space along the beach. Quite a large beach, offering possible swimming spots, next to crowded cafeterias or isolated spots to enjoy the sea.
Kondyli (St. Nikolaos)
Kind of Beach: Thin and large pebbles, sand. Quite large as a beach. Its seabed is for the most part rocky and at some points on the left it is sandy as well. Quite deep, with a steep incline. Access: Can be reached by car or if lucky, by boat. Leaving Vivari area and driving the road Candia-Iria, you will come across a sign, which signals a right turn for the beach. Once you have turned right, you will see the Vivari Bay and later the Kondyli beach. Location: Between Vivari and Candia. The exact location of the beach can be tracked down in the section Facilities: Cafeterias, rented deck chairs and umbrellas, showers. Additional Information: Free parking areas. On the left side of the beach, next to the wave, it is worth visiting the chapel of St. Nikolaos. It is considered to be one of the most beautiful beaches in Argolida prefecture and it's not without reason that some think that way. A great spot for those who love clear waters.
