What if,
scoliosis patients can use their school backpack as their therapy for their spine?

School backpack for scoliosis patient therapy
What is SCOLIOSIS? Scoliosis is one of spine disorder that resemble curve “S” or “C”. The cause of scoliosis mostly is unknown, but some research said it caused from hormonal. Every patients have different curva condition that makes every patients has different treatment. Until these days, there are still many students bring heavy school backpack. Even though the weight is more than limit that recommended, but it’s to accomodate their needs outside house.
The recommended loading limit is 10% from their body weight. But this recommendation it’s not applicable for scoliosis patients. (Chow, 2005)
4% from all 10 - 14 years old children have scoliosis and 40-60% mostly are girls.
Even though heavy loading in backpack gives many disadvantages to scoliosis patient (pain in back, waist, shoulder), but in the other side, wearing weights could be used as therapy.
One of therapy which using weight as main function is The Pettibon System.
Wearing the weights causes new postural information to be sent to the brain, which then triggers your nervous system to alter the body’s positioning. This altered positioning creates a more ideal spinal alignment and posture.
Needs to bring school equipment and accomodate needs outside house
In fact, the limit doesn’t mean absolutely can’t, but there’s a method to wear it right.

But, there is a limit of weighting heavy loading, especially for Scoliosis patient

Scoliosis Patient Condition As described before, every patients have different curva Scoliosis degree which means every patients has different treatment. Due to that condition, this project using one sample Scoliosis patient.
What Scoliosis patients needs? Besides reduce pain, balance, respiratory function, improvement in productivity, Negrini (2006) explained there are 2 kinds of needs for Scoliosis patients:

With theme Storage 蔾 Our group developed concept ideas related to store things. Refrigerator is one of storage example that Haier have. From that basis, we start to brainstorm and decide several ideas.

“It is nice to be able to eat fruits with the best taste, anytime we want.”
C2H4 Fruits have different time for ripening. Example banana has short time for ripening than pear.
By controling ripening time, we can make banana stays longer and eat pear faster.
By controlling Ethylene, it’s possible to controlling ripening time of fruits. Release more C2H4 for quickening the ripening and absorb C2H4 to make it slower.

Compartment separator can be used for any small fruits and if not needed, it can store big fruits
Compartment can be took off easily for cleaning purpose
and enter setting interface. The initial time is 0 days, indicating the machine will start work Slide your finger, screen will perceive your finger movements, the day will automatically change. Day that written in the screen means the day you will eat the fruit. When the machine works, it automatically adjust amount of Ethylene and controls the temperature. You can control your fruits ripeness until 7 days.

Energy Alternative and Vertical Building are solution that we already meet these days. We would like to propose an idea of energy alternative which could be used in daily activities inside our house. INITIAL IDEA
Generate electricity as much as we do our activities inside home
Some tall building or apartment has water tank on the roof top. Each room, water are supplied from water tank through pipes. Our idea is while the water flow through pipes, could they generate the electricity before go to each room in the building?
hydropower?
This theory inspire us to make new concept idea of alternative energy.
One of electricity source which utilize the energy of falling water or running fast water called Hydropower. It may caused of the height or gravitation.

Salvage Party is an event that you can learn cooking while the professional chef turn your left over food or near expired date ingredients that you bring, into a delicate food. This event occasionally held by an organizer in Tokyo, Japan.

Borrowing the Salvage Party brand and system, our group planned to held Salvage Party especially for student who often have the left-over food experiences. They only have to bring the ingredient and entrance fee. Besides new ccoking skill, you also could get new friend and new community.

We had responsible to manage publication such as an event publication, inspiration poster and giving information about waste management in Japan to Indonesia.

ASEAN Youth Network in Japan (AYNJ) is community consist ASEAN students who live in Japan. Every year we held various event and one of them is ASEAN Job Fair. ASEAN Job Fair 2017 is the biggest job fair targeting ASEAN student who will graduate in 2017 and work in Japan. Together as part of big team, we made posters for the pre-event and main-event.
Indonesian Students’ Association in Japan (Radio PPI Jepang) initiate an online radio broadcast since July 2015 with purpose to convey knowledge and unite Indonesian students in Japan. Together with friends in Chiba city, we made the blueprint; logo, poster design, broadcast system, Cover photo for Radio PPI Jepang Facebook Fan Page

In these 2 years in Japan, I found myself have an interest in poster layouting. Besides improving myself in soft skill, I also enjoy to learn more in design skill. On top of that, I found it is a pleasant thing if our design could be useful for others.
