Le programme de 2013 a été sélectionné par Françoise Callier, Coordinatrice du Programme du festival depuis 2007. Cette année nous avons reçu plus de 1200 appels à candidature de 75 pays.

Chaque année nous offrons une « Carte Blanche » pour deux soirées de projections à deux commissaires invités. Cette année nous avons eu l’honneur de recevoir nos commissaires à Siem Reap. Nous les remercions de tout cœur d’avoir accepté notre invitation.

Soirée de projections 23 - 30 Novembre 2013

Les 8 soirées de projections sont une partie importante du festival, l’entrée est gratuite et accessible à tout le monde. Du 23 au 30 novembre les visiteurs se pressent dans les jardins du FCC Angkor, nos partenaires de toujours, pour regarder le travail de plus de 130 photographes internationaux, environ la moitié d’eux est asiatique.

Soirée de Clôture 30 Novembre 2013

Soirée inoubliable dans les jardins du Raffles Grand Hôtel d’Angkor, plus de 600 personnes. Visite de l’exposition du photographe chinois Liu Jie « Migrant Nation » et celle de l’américain Brian Sokol « The Most Important Thing », présentée par deux délégués de l’UNHCR. Projections des travaux réalisés par les étudiants des 9éme Angkor Photo Workshops et annonce du gagnant du prix.

9éme Angkor Photo Workshops 23 - 30 Novembre 2013

La 9éme édition des Angkor Photo Workshops a accueilli 30 jeunes photographes asiatiques venus de 11 pays. Ils sont dirigés par 6 photographes professionnels, tous volontaires, chaque étudiant est poussé à améliorer sa manière de photographier et à accéder à un niveau plus élevé. Comme chaque année leurs travaux ont été projeté lors de la soirée de clôture.

A propos des Workshops Tous les ans les Angkor Photo Workshops donnent aux étudiants un enseignement de qualité, ils sont entièrement gratuits pour que tous les photographes intéressés puissent s’y joindre. La photographe cambodgienne Sophal Neak est la gagnante du prix de cette année pour son sujet « Hang On », il lui a été remis lors de la soirée de clôture du festival.

9th Anjali children’s workshops 15 - 25 Novembre 2013

2013 Tuteurs Plus de 50 enfants de l’ONG Anjali House ont participé aux Anjali Children’s Workshops. Un groupe de 8 tuteurs, tous volontaires, a emmené les enfants dans divers endroits autour de Siem Reap. Les adolescents ramènent leur caméra chez eux tous les soirs et les week-ends pour documenter leur vie quotidienne. Un grand merci à notre partenaire i-Qlick Canon pour avoir prêté généreusement des caméras digitales aux enfants.

Des centaines de photos ont été collées sur des murs et palissades dans la ville. Après les soirées au FCC, BLOWUP Angkor a montré des projections dans différents lieux de Siem Reap.

Pour la deuxième fois le festival a organisé pendant 6 jours des revues de portfolios gratuites pour tous les photographes présents. Belle opportunité pour eux de montrer leur travail à toutes les personnalités du monde de la photographie assistant au festival.

Welcome to the 9th Edition of the Angkor Photo Festival. Created in 2005, the Angkor Photo Festival is the longest-running international photography festival in Southeast Asia. The annual weeklong event is held in Siem Reap, Cambodia, and aims to be a platform showcasing and highlighting top photography by both celebrated and emerging photographers from all over the world. With a unique focus on discovering new talents, especially from Asia, the festival also acts as an accessible, inclusive platform for photography professionals to meet and interact.

“My photography collection was about the Cambodian people’s daily lifestyles, which are always burdened,” said Sophal.

The title of the collection refers to Sophal’s idea that people from all backgrounds are constantly struggling to “hang on” to life. “Some are lucky enough to be able to do their favourite job, some would prefer a higher salary, some just find a job for a living. But they will all face difficulties in their lives,” she said. professional training to young photographers from Asia. This year they will work with 30 young people from 11 Asian countries. Their work will be on show on the closing night of the festival (Nov. 30) in the Raffles Grand Hotel D’Angkor Gardens. On top of this, 50 children from Anjali House in Siem Reap will take part in a 10-day workshop. By encouraging creative expression, the workshops boost self-confidence, social interaction and educational development. The results will be on show at the Children’s Day showcase at Shinta Mani hotel on Nov. 28. “This year it will be easier for the public to join us. We are also staging a retrospective of all the work from the Children’s Workshops from the last eight years and the slideshow that night will be selected with children in mind, with photographs which they can enjoy,” says Lim. A festival and workshop centre will be located at The Loft near Old Market, where free portfolio review sessions, artists’ talks and seminars will be hosted. The sessions are free of charge, open to all and run each afternoon for the duration of the festival. A catalogue will also be on sale for the first time this year.
