Representation As well as your Vice President (ARU London), each year you will have the opportunity to stand to be, or vote for, the Course Rep for your course. Reps are students, elected by their peers, who work to champion the views and interests of the students on their course. They provide an essential link between you, the Students’ Union and the university. Course Rep Elections take place in October so, if you think you could represent the voice of students on your course, you should think about standing, you will be fully trained and supported every step of the way. We’re dedicated to improving your everyday student experience and our Reps play a huge part in making that happen. Head online to find out more.

“Representing students is an honour as it’s extremely satisfying helping those in need. It helps you to improve your leadership and communication skills and, believe it or not, improves your debating skills.” Umran Bashir, Course Rep 2017-18

Liberation and Project Groups We strongly believe that whilst you’re studying it’s really important you are able to form your own social groups, to support one another or organise projects. This is why we have launched, for the first time ever, Liberation Networks & Project Groups

events that other students can get involved with. All you need to do is get at least two other students on board, write up a plan and apply for some money. Simple. This fund is available for Course Reps, Liberation Networks, or absolutely any student currently studying with us! www.angliastudent.com/london/projects

Liberation Networks Liberation Networks are student-led groups allowing you to seek support, respect and opportunities. These are spaces to share the latest issues relevant to minority groups and a place to make contacts and develop friendships. The networks will also provide students with the opportunity to run events and campaigns on the ARU London campus through applying for money through our Project Groups fund. We will be supporting LGBT+, Women’s, Black & Ethic Minority, International and Disabled Students’ Networks. Head to our website to find out more or to become a Network leader. www.angliastudent.com/london/networks Project Groups The purpose of our Project Groups is to provide some financial support for students to organise projects or

Ways to feedback Throughout your time with us at ARU London there will be things you want to feedback about – both good and bad for us to work on with you. We welcome any and all feedback through email/social media/face-to-face but there are plenty of other ways you can let us know your thoughts.

• Your Course Reps/Vice President

These students are your link to the university and should be your first port of call for any course-based/campus feedback. They will then raise this on your behalf at meetings with ARU Students’ Union and university staff and keep you updated with any developments.

• Question Time

Once a semester you will have the opportunity to take part in a question & answer session with the ARU London Principal, you can raise concerns, suggest ideas or just sit back and listen.

• Question of the Month

Every month we will be asking you one question to give us your opinion on, we totally understand that students can get bombarded with surveys so hopefully this will help!
