What a wonderful feeling to have our first What’s On guide printed since lockdown. It’s been a tough couple of years for everyone but our Spring / Summer programme is certainly full of events to brighten your day…or night. Whether you are young or just young-at-heart we’ve got something for you. Webster Theatre is absolutely jam-packed with shows for all tastes. We’ve fantastic tribute shows such as The UK Pink Floyd Experience and Someone Like You: The Adele Songbook; spectacular glitz and glam cabaret with The Ladyboys of Bangkok and exhilarating new musical Soul Sisters. There’s also top comedians including Jack Dee and Carl Hutchinson to name but a few. If you’re a lover of the outdoors our wonderful country parks have a superb range of activities. On the water there’s everything from stand up paddleboarding, windsurfing, kayaking to Canadian canoes and open swimming. On the land you can enjoy mountain biking, wildlife walks, eagle watching, garden detectives and much more! Also I’m delighted to be hosting our very first Paddlefest in June. In partnership with Scottish Disability Sport, Paddlefest will be an opportunity for people with physical, sensory and /or learning disabilities to try out water sports at Monikie Country Park. Our Museums, Galleries & Archives will feature a fabulous programme of exhibitions including David Waterson 1870-1954 at Brechin Town House Museum and James Torrington Bell at Carnoustie Library amongst many others. There’s also a captivating programme from Archives, including pop-up events at locations around Angus. Over at our Libraries we continue to have a fabulous mix of activities including Bookbug in the Park, Picnic with an author and Harry Potter Silver Anniversary celebrations. Don’t forget our sports centres continue to offer a diverse range of activities - whether it’s a gentle workout or something more strenuous. Lastly I’m super excited to be sharing that our very own panto will be returning this December (oh yes it is!). I very much hope the progress on the pandemic will mean Rupunzel featuring Puss ‘n’ Boots will be delighting audiences across Angus and further afield. A big welcome back and I look forward to seeing you at our venues in the coming weeks and months!
