The project is an integration of human, architecture, and nature: a wetlands research institute consists of dry and wet laboratories, study spaces, and a bunkhouse for students. The design is based on the concept of the water streams flowing through the wetland surface by the May River.

This project proposes a multifunctional facility that promotes recreational activities at the French Broad River Park in Asheville. The site is located by the French Broad River and is a vast green space with old trees, paved trails, and observation decks to the river.
