Guided by intellectual curiosity and a desire to learn from the very best, the incoming Class of 2024 is ready to expand on its stellar list of accomplishments while at Claremont McKenna College. Our latest group of eager and engaged applicants represents 30 states and 22 countries. Wynter Buckner

Hometown: Chicago

Honors and activities: UW-Madison’s Business Emerging Leaders Program; Chicago Scholars; National Student Leadership Conference

Academic interests: Entrepreneurship, economics, finance

Proudest accomplishment: I created a business plan and began a beauty brand by making all-natural lip oils to sell on Etsy.

Goals at CMC: I want to take advantage of any possible opportunity that will lead me to experience something new, be it study abroad, internships, electives, or relationships with my peers and professors.

Bilge Tayyar

Hometown: Antalya, Turkey

Honors and activities: Co-founder of imeceLAB (sustainable development); president of the Robert College Social Entrepreneurship Club; International Model UN

Academic interests: Economics, sociology, history, social entrepreneurship

Proudest accomplishment: imeceLAB, where I got the chance to connect with hundreds of students from all over Turkey to find my passion and teach social entrepreneurship skills.

Goals at CMC: I am looking forward to connecting with other CMCers to deepen my entrepreneurship skills and create an impact in the world.

Jorlen Garcia

Hometown: Miami

Academic interests: International relations, economics, data science

Proudest accomplishment: Talking with state representatives and serving as a panelist on a town hall about youth drug use. I saw in person how state politics works in tandem with local communities fighting for their causes.

Goals at CMC: Study in China and Washington, D.C. I want to take full advantage of a small, liberal arts setting to learn about a variety of subjects and get a well-rounded view of the world.
