Center for Transnational Law and Business Mission The mission of the Center for Transnational Law and Business at the USC Gould School of Law is to promote world class policy analysis, research and educational opportunities in international business law and policy to USC, the broader community of Southern California, the nation, and the world. The Center will focus on facilitating expanded interdisciplinary collaboration, teaching and research among scholars, students, lawyers, businesses, and policy makers. The Center’s programs will include original research, conferences, symposia, and annual events with the goal of bringing together leading academics, practitioners, and policymakers from across the country and around the world. Programming will focus on critical problems and challenges that exist within the realm of transnational business.
Sponsorship Levels and Descriptions: Bronze Level: $25,000 per year
(available only to privately held companies)
Reasonable access and introductions to resources at the Center, such as relevant faculty, staff and students. Access to white papers and Center’s scholarly research and policy proposals. Company ½ day at USC for presentation(s) on a relevant transnational law and business topic(s). One (1) invitation to Center’s signature Annual Conference. Membership in Center’s Advisory Council, which will help select research projects and related training topics. Public Relations: Option to reasonably participate in the Center’s media outreach and social networking.
Silver Level: $50,000 per year All benefits in the Bronze level Sponsor Site Visit. One (1) meeting per year at Sponsor’s site by one faculty of the Center to offer a seminar or lecture on a relevant transnational law topic.
Company Day at USC: One full-day visit to Center for customized meetings with appropriate faculty, staff, students and researchers.
Two (2) invitations to Center’s Annual Conference.
Gold Level: $100,000 per year All the benefits in the Silver level Employee Training: One (1) invitation to Sponsor general counsel to one (1) USC Gould School of Law Continuing Legal Education Institutes or Fora.
Employee Training: Five (5) invitations to Sponsor executives to attend a one-week intensive course on a transnational law and business topic. Participants will receive a certificate signed by Center’s Executive Director and the Dean of USC Gould School of Law.
Three (3) invitations to Center’s Annual Conference and one (1) invitation to Center’s Academic Conference. Named Sponsorship Opportunities (one-year appointments to enrich and expand Center scholarship)
Gold Level Sponsors have the following additional naming opportunities: [Sponsor Name] Interdisciplinary Research Fellow – for an additional gift of $75,000, sponsor a one-year joint appointment for a member of the USC faculty to pursue a research project in the Center for Transnational Law and Business. Interdisciplinary Research Fellows will bring expertise in a range of relevant fields, such as Economics, Engineering, International Relations and Public Policy, to Center research, conferences, and training activities.
[Sponsor Name] Interdisciplinary Graduate Fellowship – for an additional gift of $50,000, sponsor a USC Ph.D. candidate from any department to conduct research relevant to transnational law and business for one year.
Platinum Level: $250,000 per year All the benefits in the Gold level Employee Training: Access for three (3) in-house counsel members to one (1) USC Gould School of Law Continuing Legal Education course each
Project: Engagement in a 3-month project to be completed by the Center. Access to results, reports and papers. Employee-in-Residence: A designated employee from Sponsor can reside at the Center for one week for collaboration on the above 3-month project.
Executive Briefing Session: Visit by lead project investigator and Center’s Director and/or dean of USC Gould School of Law with Sponsor’s Leadership team and/or Board of Directors.
Platinum Level Sponsors have the following additional naming opportunities: All of the naming opportunities available to Gold Level Sponsors [Sponsor Name] Visiting Professor – for an additional gift of $250,000, sponsor a leading scholar who has contributed to the field of transnational law and business to spend one year in residence at the Center and at USC Gould, conducting research, and contributing to Center publications, conferences, trainings and other activities.
[Sponsor Name] Postdoctoral Fellow – for an additional gift of $125,000, sponsor a one-year postdoctoral fellowship for a promising scholar to pursue research in transnational law and business and participate in a wide range of Center activities.
