AT USC GOULD, YOUR FUTURE IS BRIGHT.
Dear xxx, Thank you for your interest in our USC Gould School of Law Online Master of Studies in Law (MSL) program!
A MASTER’S DEGREE FOR NON-LAWYER PROFESSIONALS Our MSL degree is for experienced non-lawyer professionals who do not plan to become practicing attorneys but seek a legal education that provides an understanding of basic and complex legal matters to support the work they do in their organizations. Our program is designed for flexibility and we have extraordinary USC faculty who teach our classes. Earn your degree from an elite top-20 law school.
FLEXIBLE & CONVENIENT Almost all of the work for our classes is done on our students’ own time and, while each class has a weekly online lecture/discussion, students have the option of joining or not – based upon their availability. Our online lecture/discussions are recorded so that students can access and view them at a time that is convenient for them. The syllabi for our classes, which include students’ assignments for the entire semester for each class, can be accessed online before the class begins. In this way, students can download their assignments and other course information when they would like and they can upload their assignments and materials in accordance with deadlines.
ADMISSIONS Admission to the online MSL does not require the LSAT or GRE exam. Letters of recommendation are not required as a part of the application process. You can get started as soon as Spring 2017 - if you submit your application by our priority deadline of November 3, 2016, the $75 application fee is waived. Our spring classes will begin on Wednesday, January 4, 2017. The Online MSL is available on a full-time or part-time basis – most of our part-time students enroll in 4 to 5 units per semester.
