Mixed use hotel Sikanderpur, Gurgaon VI 2018

The intent of the project was to focus on the balance between commerce, hospitality and an interesting insertion of a X-factor program. The X-factor is the insertion of the local street market situated nearby. The street market is placed in the different cuboids situated on the ground floor, this forces the customers going into the main building to pass through the street market.

E - W alignment

The building is aligned along the east - west axis with the long side facing the north and south side.

The cuboids which are disconnected from the main structure are the shops for street vendors.

Outdoor area

The outdoor swimming pool, lounge and hotel dining area are placed at a height above the metro station away from the sight of the commuters.

Cuboids break out from the base of the building.

Green

The cuboids which are projecting out of the main structure have a green roof.

North side

People move through the street market to reach the building. The market is also visible from the metro station which attracts more attention.

02 PROJECT :

Elderly community faciliated living

LOCATION : Golf course ext, Gurgaon SEMESTER : X YEAR : 2020

The vision of this thesis is to develop an elderly community facilitated living facility which caters to healthy elders above the age of 60 with an intent to provide them with a high end experience oriented lifestyle corresponding to housing, common medical needs, generating professional activity and social interaction. This thesis focuses on care for the elderly that can be fostered through meaningful architecture. It identifies the manner in which architecture can be used as a platform to promote care for the elderly. The facility not only caters to the social requirements of the elderly but also provides infrastructure for the residents to maintain a work life. A communal area with offices, co–working space and workshops are provided to enhance their skills and allow them to continue their professional life.

The surrounding context is very less dense which creates no traffic or noise in front of the site. .

The site is gradually contoured at a slope of 1 : 35. The maximum difference in level in 4m.

Aligning the zoned areas of residence, health clinic and the communal space according to the site edges.

Aligning the central axis through the middle of the site. Aligning the green area and villas parallel to it.

Aligning the villas in a cross shape. The open green area forming a triangle being parallel to the site edges.

Opening a green courtyard in the communal block to allow maximum natural light into the spaces

Creating green terraces through out the building to allow gathering areas at different levels.

Creating perforations on the elevation to allow the corridors to be naturally lit.

Adding a deck with circular cut-outs along the Building making it naturally lit. Amenities placed in semi circles along the axis.

Semi-circular built forms placed along the axis with different recreational amenities.

Sloping down half of the semi-circle built form as green slopes to allow vegetation to grow on them.

Adding green circles as seating areas along the axis and making it naturally shaded by tree cover.

Adding circular cutouts, to allow light to enter into the rooms and converting the other semi-circle into a 1.5m wide water feature.

Group housing Sarojini Nagar, Delhi VII 2018

The intent of the project was to create an urban transformation; re-densification and redevelopment of Sarojini Nagar through a live-work-play relationship by restructuring the land use. Additionally, the traffic also needs to be navigated due to new redefined roads. The housing designed needs to create an integrated community through the combination of mixed housing. It should also preserve the trees and vegetation and cater to social, physical and psychological needs of the residents.

25 || SITE EXPLODED Type 2, 3 and 4 towers connect directly to the sunken floor at -5000 LVL. The sunken slab is streached between the towers connecting them therefore, creating a common interactive community area.

The ground floor is depressed inside from the middle, creating a landscaped area. The trees cut due to the towers are accommodated there.

Circulation on the ground floor slopes down eventually to the sunken floor level. One type 2 and four type 3 & 4 towers have thier vehicular drop off on the ground floor.

Site

The road from the ground floor, ramps down and moves along the sunken slabs edge. All the towers on the north side have their vehicular drop off at -5000 LVL.

Vehicular road (-4000) The sunken landscape at lower level allows the apartments on the ground floor to have a clear view of the landscape as well. The road traveling along the sunken edge has a clear view of the landscape as well.

04 PROJECT :

College of Art and Architecture

LOCATION : Aravalli Hills, Gurgaon SEMESTER : V YEAR : 2017

The intent of the project was to create an art and architecture institute with main focus on open - semi open spaces and multi functional spaces with relation to the built form and surrounding. Balconies project out from the studios visually connecting the entire site with the built structure.

Horizontal voids added to create a visual connect. Amphitheater visually connects the entire building together. It is visible from all the floors via the balcony.

The workshops, the dance, music practice rooms and the games room is situated on the ground floor. All noise creating spaces are situated away from the studios.

The Architecture and design college is built on the idea to promote maximum interaction between the students of all the academic years. The library and the architecture / design studios directly over look the entire campus and creates a visual connect. The library and the architecture studio have balconies projecting out which overlooks the outdoor cafeteria which increases interaction among students and connects them.
