TYPOGRAPHY This was the college project where we were asked to design a experimetal type. I experimented with many things and end up creating type with illustration. #AtoZofWhoIAM 4

EXPERIMENTAL

TYPOG-

#AtoZofWhoIAM This is one of my college project where we had to experiment with typography. Here I have tried to characterize myself. The whole alphabetical series depicts who I am.

TYPODAY_#Typoday2019

I articipated in a Poster making competition in Typoday 2019. The poster depicts how the advancement in technology is destroying our eyesight. The rise of VR gaming has taken video gaming to a whole new level as it has given wings to the gamers but ironically these wings won’t help you fly for a long time instead drowns you deep into the ocean of illness very soon. The addiction to screen not only weakens our eyesight but also leads many disorders such as ADHD and Developmental coordination disorder. This addiction also makes us deprived of sleep as our eyes are hooked to the screens until night and that too in a very inappropriate body posture responsible for neck and back pain in humans. Apart from these malfunctions it also induces the communication and interaction problems in youths which is the major reason for autism being so common among youth these days.

Branding This was the live project. My teachers selected me to go to McLeodganj and work on the branding for the tibetan community there. The brief required to look at all 129 registered Tibetan street vendors. These Tibetan stalls required a distinct identity that separate them from the Kashmiri or Nepali and to help them merchandice their products 8

COLOR PALETTE

Hex code- F0C818

Hex code-5CA79B

Hex code- 2A266C

Hex code- DA2426

Extracting colors from mood board by doing some explorations. These are the colors of tibetan flag an keeping in mind the religious aspect which makes the community dierent, the same tibetan flag colors being used.

9

COMMUNAL IDENTITY- MAPS The map is designed to create an individual identity of the community. The whole map shows the tibetan streets vendor’s stall location and what items they sell. 10

INDIVIDUAL IDENTITY These characters are drawn by observing different kinds of tibetan. The way they sit, they way they dress up, the way they style their hair. Every little detail of their face has been studied and then illustrated. These are the explorations for the identity card. 11

IDENTITY CARDS The colorful ID cards will give the sense of fun and quirk these tibetan vendors have. These illustrated colorful character will also encourage these street vendors to wear the card on the daily basis. 12

TAGS

STICKERS

The tag would the double sided tags, the first side has the small illustration of the product and the stall number with the whole branding of the street vendors, the other side has the item number and pricing to be put on it. The other tag would have the logo of the street vendor welfare society and the other side would have the sall note about the tibetan street vendors.

The Stickers are to seal the packaging. The whole idea is to get these street vendors brown paper or newspaper packaging as per the availability in the town and then asked them to seal the bag with stickers. By which the stall number and the identity of the vendors will g with customer. It will also help customer to connect with the vendors easily.

13

PROMOTION The whole idea of designing the postcards is to kept on the tables of the cafes. The large number of tourists visit the cafes and restaurant and this will help the street vendors to be recognised by the tourist on the streets.

14

SOCIAL MEDIA PAGE The idea is to create a page for these 129 tibetan street vendors which will tell their stories. The hashtags, pictures and stories will provide them the recognisation. 15

Publication It was a group project and we’re being devided in the group of six students, also each one of us was being given a position to work. The brief was to design a magazine or a newspaper from curating the information from designing the concept to getting the magazine printed. 16

In the world of negative news this newspaper bulettin will try to reflect the positive side of the society. Targeting elderly people we wanted to create a conversation about the positive things that is happening around in the society.

17

18

NEWSPAPER BULETTINE Worked as an Illustrator for “The Happy Hour a bulletine that shares and delivers positive news. I curated all the stories for the storytelling spread, created illustartion and then layout the spread for the same. I also helped others in order to complete the whole bulettin.

19

Experimental Typography This was one of the part of my project where we had to create an experience. I created experiment typography with the help of haikus because it adds level of self-awareness to a conceptual design that could otherwise fall flat. The concept is to leave people with a thought of connecting with nature by start noticing what’s there. 20

“Looking at sunrise To phone and ipads is the morning We’re Growing Old”

21

“From chirping of a bird to noise of a city, we’ve come a long way.”

22

“Early morning breeze; Slow Down and Breathe.”

23

Branding This is one of my college project in which we had to create a hypothetical brand which comprises of identifying the opportunity area, research, taking out insight and creating a brand and then do branding of it. There was an additional brief attached to it in which we had to design whole campaign of the brand as it was going in the market for the very first time. 32

What is Big Buddy? A name big buddy reflects the essence of the service. Big Buddy gives a feeling of comfort, protection to whome someone look up to. Your big buddy would be someone whom you trust who would give you wise advise and does everything for the betterment of yourself.

33

FINAL LOGO The idea of creating the logo is simple and effective, so that people understand the meaning of the brand. The big B is Big buddy carrying a human inside. The human is in comfortable and secure position inside Big buddy. The orange color is being used to give the sense of warmth and friendliness. 34

COLLATERAL A quick look how brand is going to look in the marketing collateral.

35

Campaign Design Mascot design is part of the campaign project. The idea was to introduce the brand ‘’Big Buddy’’ to the market. So, keeping in mind the target audience I decided to create a mascot for the brand. In addition to that I made stickers and posters for that too.

36

FINAL MASCOT

STICKER

The idea was to keep mascot a very friendly, happy but Stickers are designed to put in the public areas like, bus stop, inside the metro, at the same time sincere and ready to help. I wanted to public library, open college area of the city. The idea was to put stickers in public keep colors synced with the brand color. place because it is a easy way reach out to the target audience. 37

Digital storytelling Students were required to create, synthesize and narrate stories that are structured to be consume by various kinds of audiences. These stories after being created will have to be translated onto a digital format. We had to create a story on the basis of our trip to pushkar fair. The story has to have the essence of pushkar.

38

Three mid-aged, in Rajasthani attire men standing far and looking at Kalam and Jaitram out of jealousy. Scene 1It is yet another beautiful morning in Pushkar. Hundreds and thousands of herders and nomads gather in the area around the Pushkar Lake. Some are here to buy and sell their livestock and some are here for giving rides and to participate in competitions organized here. The extreme out of the box competitions of camels has been a tradition of Pushkar fair. One can witness the extreme abilities of camels in the competitions. Jaitram, a forty-something, 6 ft tall, wearing white long-sleeved kurta, white dhoti, an intricately wrapped maroon turban and gold ear hoops glinting in the light standing with his camel Kalam near the tent facing the sun. Jaitram starts caressing Kalam and says, “ Today’s practice was really productive, I know we’re going to win this time too Kalam.”

One of the guy says, “isne to dhandha kharab karke rakha hai, jaise hi aata hai saare grahak iske paas chale jate hai.” The other says, “dhande ke saath saath saare competition bhi jeet ke jata hai” first guy says again,“pata nahi kya samjhta hai apne aap ko, har saal buyers lakh ruppee dene ko tayyar rehte hai par bechta hi nahi” Other guy says, “kyu kashi bhaya kuch to bolo” Kashi (evilly looking, thinking) says, “haan pichle saal mene bhi souda karne ki koshish ki thi par is jaitram ne mjhe ek baar me mana kar diya.”

Kalam(standing in arrogance self-assurance), “yeah I know it, already!” Jaitram, “I know, I know you think that these weightlifting competitions are like a child play for you. But we have to pretend that we practice because we can’t tell anyone. Kalam(eye rolls) “And this is our little secret kalam, you know we can’t disclose our secret to anyone, right?”.

Scene3In the post-evening, most of the camels would go to drink some water from the canal followed by a small meet and chit-chat session. As they all sit and relax after drinking water, one of the camels asks about the number of participants who are going to participate in this year in the competition. "According to my estimate, something around 550-600 camels are going to participate in the competition", replied another one.

Kalam (with Sly smile) And if we did, people will forget what you did, what you're capable of and they will start judging you and laugh at you. Kalam (chota muh ban jana) Jaitram(still caressing) says, leave all of this let's go to the main ground and start our day. Scene2Kalam is one of a kind. He is an 8 ft tall, well built Camel. He has a sleek tattooed neck and a curvy hump, the tattoo starts from the back cover the whole neck and stops under his glittery eyes which makes him look attractive. The subtle colorful accessories on the back and legs make him look more attractive. He has got a charming personality. All the tourists loved him. He was the center of attraction and most of the tourists wanted to get a ride on him. Every trader in the fair wanted to buy him and ready to pay through the nose in return for Kalam.

STORY/SCRIPT WRITING

" 600 is just a number, tell me how many of them are going to be the real competitors who would dare to compete with me", asked another well-built camel from the group. "I don't know about any competitors but I am telling you beforehand to be just beware of me, I am ready to retain the title", Kalam replied to all of them arrogantly. "Oh please(in rajasthani)! Don't be overconfident. Even I can win the competition if my luck favors me on that particular day.", replied another camel from the group. Kalam slyly looks towards the female camels and after passing an arrogant smile he says "of course, not the female ones. They are only brought here for trading purposes because they are only useful for producing milk and babies. Moreover, such masculine competitions are not for the weaker ones maintaining the dignity of the competition.” Rani, a female camel sitting close to the group of male camels. She heard the conversation that the male camels recently had. She expected Kalam to be a sensible camel having some respect for the opposite sex. His statement obviously hurt her but she knew it deep inside that Kalam is

When I got this brief, I started thinking about the times I spent in Pushkar, every little detailes like the conversation with the pan wala, camel rider, old uncle, tourist and I started noting down the interesting things and facts that i discovered their. I heard their about the habrid camel and how expensive they are. I also noticed after interviewing people theri that tge role of female camel’s mostly is to give birth. I started researching about that and came up with the storyline. I also refered graphic novels and comics, for example V for vendetta, Perspolis, Carnet De Voyage, Blankets, Spiderman. I took a lot of inspiration fron Blankets and spiderman. Then I started writing script according to the novel.

39

40

CHARACTER DESIGN While writing the script I was also thinking about the characters. I was doodling them side by side. After writing the whole story i started giving shape to the characters. I started sketching little details, like eyes, eyebrows, cheekbones, height. My stories have four main characters: Kalam, Rani, Jaitram and Kashi. Starting from upper extreme left, first is character design of Rani, then Kalam, followed by Kashi and jaitram.

41

42

STORYBOARDING After writing script and deciding the main characters of my story, I started creating the storyboards. At this stage we also had to discover the style that we wanted to take forward. Also, we had do make moodboard to decide the color palatte. So, i did explorations with water color, I also used fevicol and coffee to give affects. But later on I decided to work with a monotone color palatte. 43

FINAL FRAMES I decided on to work with a monotone color family. I chose the monotone color over colorful style is because my story demanded it. My story revolves around secret and self reflection, when you see it from far all of it looks almost same but when you start reading the chapters you discover some secrets. The style I kept is very comical. You will see a lot of drama with graphical representation. 44

WEBSITE To complete the graphic novel, we had make a website for it. I used adobe XD to do it. I have also done the protoyping the same.

45

Poster Design Competition #Recreatethemagic with MG Motors MG Motor had invited graphic designers & illustrators to re-write history, by re-drawing some of their greatest ads, taking a giant leap forward, while staying rooted to their glorious history. They wanted the artists to tell the story of a classic car, in the most cutting edge, futuristic way possible. 38

These are the two entries that I sent. The first is a winning entry.

39

Internship I was hired as a graphic design intern in the marketing department of Deyor Camps. I got chance to do a variety of work from creating digital creatives like social media posts, emailers, web banners to create print media like a brochure, coffee table book, stickers, T-shirt design, wall mural. The whole internship allowed me to incorporate all the learning that I learned in my two years of design college. Here are some of the selected work. 40
