Significance

The most important significance of the area is the presence of tightly knit Newar community, where the communal values are still preferred over individual values.

The presence of old fabric still gives the sense of place with the presence of street and squares.

Continuity of folk traditions is still seen, especially among the Dhakhwa community who are continuing to live in the area. Some have migrated and their traditions have discontinued.

Preserved religious structures in inner courtyard and Nabahal court still give opportunity to retain the mysticism of the area which can have enormous value when interpreted for touristic growth.
