MEDIUM - SMALL Brief: After the devastating earthquakes that affected Nepal in 2015 this project looked at how we could immediately house effected and then how in turn do we rebuild Nepal. Location: Bungamati, Nepal Time frame: 13 weeks 2015
HOW MATERIALS ARE USED FROM ONE STRUCTURE TO ANOTHER
10 M-S
MEDIUM To house the thousands that lost their houses during the earthquakes Obrigado Portugal started to create camps within Kathmandu. Modelled off their population per square meter I have proposed a similar scenario for the town of Bungamati. Using the tarps and corrugated iron sheets that were provided by emergency relief, the citizens were to work together to create both their private and public spaces.

DIFFERENT USES FOR CAMP MODULES
CONSTRUCTION OF HOUSING MODULES
13 S
SMALL To rebuild Nepal with limited resources the citizens must be taught new ways of construction. Both rammed earth and rubble can be used as the masonry, bamboo as the structural elements and minimal concrete used as supports. It is also necessary to teach the resident’s appropriate earthquake design whilst still maintaining their original values of community.

MACRO With an upbringing in a retail environment my eldest sister (who no longer works in retail) came up with an idea for a childrens store. Heavily pregnant at the time she was unhappy with the range available and wanted to start importing it herself. Soon this grew to be an online store that is a space of playful living and giving, stocking both childrens toys and clothes to homewares and soon to have some womens fashion. Location: Inglewood, Western Australia 2016 - present
