MARIONA BLANCH VERNET + ANNA SERIO MONUMENTAL MATTERS II LONDON
STUDIO JOB FLORIS ENAC-EPFL
KINGSLAND HIGH STREET, 130 DALSTON DISTRICT - LONDON
The project develops around the idea of creating a modern version of the typical London Mansion Block, consisting of three bar buildings attached together. Each of these buildings creates its own small skyline and silhouette, the plan presents a checkerboard layout so that each building can offer the maximum possible light so that all together they create a small urban block. Each bar offers a different type of housing in order to provide a wide range of housing possibilities and meet multiple needs. The collective-common space and the distribution spaces act as moments of connection and union in between the three bars and allow to create moments of social interaction, the very protagonist of collective space is a light passerelles that is bounding the buildings together, defining spaces and creating playfull moments.
