#Re-useOrRecycle Urban Design interventions
INTRODUCTION Since I am interested on the recycling issues from which our planet suffers every day. I realized that most of the young population in the UK is ignoring the fact that a plastic bag, like many other non- biodegradable materials, can have disastrous consequences when thrown out in a normal dustbin. Using plastic bags will fill our landfill with non- biodegradable materials, which it can stay up to 500-1000 years to break up. Therefore killing animals that mistake plastic bags for food. My Intention is to persuade young people to at least reuse these plastic bags that are already in our household or to recycle them. Perhaps to reflect before taking new ones from the shops and it to realize that it isn’t so bad to re-use things. Most of the time people get bored of too much information and numbers. So I have used irony and short direct messages that would attract the public’s attention and not a great effort to read and interpret. In addition to push the boundaries to spread the word, I used a social network hash tag message. I treated a plastic bag as if it was alive and speaking in the first person..

#HumanPlasticBag A plastic bag outfit was made to attract people’s attention and make them aware of reusing plastic bags as a good thing to do in the near future. This involved engagement with the public and giving away nicely folded plastic bags.

#Let’sNotFlyAway Everyone has seen plastic bags flying around before. This was a plastic bag that had a Helium gas balloon inside that kept it floating around in the same spot. It was attached with a transparent wire and so creating curiosity within the public. It was installed in different spots.
