These two very different items were found in separate bazaars but are displayed together thanks to the way in which they work together to create a comical scene. The lounging lady is a great example of the small figures that can be found in markets across the United Kingdom. The voluptous form is meant to mimic those of circus performers of the time. The terracotta elephant was found at a bazaar in Kathmandu in the 1970s whilst Phillip was there working with the Peace Corps.

These baskets were found in two very different countries, however they resemble one another. For this reason it is particularly interesting to look into their slight differences. The weaving style appears to differ between the two in the choice of material and color. The patterns created are quite different as well and we can see how these affect the actual shape of the bakets. The Liberian rounded basket appears to have a pattern that is sticked on top of the basket, where as the Paraguayan baskets appear to incorporate the two materials to include the pattern.
