Annotation Voices: sopranos, full voice is not in use Ranges: I: e1 quarter flat - g-2 II: e1 quarter flat - e3 quarter flat III: e1 quarter flat - cis3 sharp IV: e1 quarter flat - g2 quarter sharp V: e1 quarter flat - f2 quarter sharp It is necessary to amplify the sound. Sound Tract: 5 performers - 5 dynamical microphones - mixer console - 2 loudspeakers or more. All letters should be produced regarding to english pronunciation, except "y", which is equal to russian "ы"
Types of sounds: Non-pitched - air tone, blowing, "wind", stepless alternation of exhalation (
) and inhalation (
). In places without indications of changes do it at discretion.
- "rustle" - move up a tongue to a roof of a mouth, where the end of a tongue doesn't touch it (unlike in whistling almost not using lips). Change pitch by moving tongue and varying the mouth position like for pronouncing different vowels. For example, if we form mouth for "u" - the sound will be lower, if for "i" - higher. - the sound, which is produced by intensive sucking air into a mouth with pressed lower lip to the top teeth. - “flip” - smacking noise made by touching roof of mouth and releasing it. - pronunciation of consonants: a) short b) prolonged: pronunciation which is transmitted through the sound of air maintaining the same position of the mouth and lips as for the pronunciation of current consonant. Note: “sh” must be muffled, without admixture of whistle; “p” must be muffled. Pitched sound - regular sound without vibrato
Methods:
- "lips tremolo" - move finger between lips in time of producing a sound - pitched glissando within quartertone - rustle glissando (in the score has written approximate vowels, just an example how to control pitch) - gradually moving from one letter to another
Where there is no indication of vowel, performers can choose it by themselves.
