Sampai stands for Sampa (the nickname of São
Paulo) and Paissandú, the name of a square in the city center that has been the protagonist of a series of housing discussions in 2018. I chose São Paulo for my thesis to gain back my Brazilian roots and give back to the Politecnico community a bit of the knowledge I've acquired after 5
sampaI years of bachelor in Architecture & Urbanism in Brazil.
The project (here very shortly presented) consists
of the re-development of 8 blocks in the city center following new guidelines and a specific methodology. After the restructuration of the urban realm, one of the blocks is further developed in terms of public space and building typology, trying to come up with concrete solutions for the habitation problem of São Paulo's lack of affordable housing. It was presented in April 2019, and it got a maximum grade with honor.
5
METHODOLOGY
to understand the district, one must walk through the city center of Sao Paulo and observe the signs, graffitis and tips the inhabitants leave to us.
7
analyze thoroughly the area, look for signs of irregular occupation, failure of function, etc
abandoned buildings with satisfactory structures are recovered; others demolished.
where there is a failing of functions happens a switch
new plots are introduced where precarious buildings once were
the heights must respect the context & light efficiency
introduce shared spaces: rooftops, courtyards, etc
after recovery of the block, introduce new mobility to match the rest of the center
introduce pedestrian and bike paths as possible; big lanes should keep some parking for disabled

According to the masterplan developed in the first part of the project, the plot B of block H must follow a couple of rules: "B is divided into 4 different plots, ground floor is commercial, activity is flexible. The first and second floor of the three buildings facing
Valedo AnhangabaĂş are dedicated to an art school." Also, B must have at least one opening leading up to the courtyard (Arts Plaza) (on the image of the left a whole building was lifted). So the massing developed in a way that the four buildings work
with one structure to support each other. The corner was lifted and the buildings shifted in order to open up the building to the public space. The difference caused by the switch allows a peek into the art school, divided into three build-
ings. The building that is residential only has a screen attached to the ceiling. This screen can be used to display the sky above, digital art pieces or even propaganda. With this strategy, a welcoming plaza gives entrance to the courtyard of the block, bringing people in.

buoyant
buoyant 2nd prize @ Archasm competition colleagues individual type fashion pavilion Milano - 2019 Buoyant - a word standing both for floating & success - is an homage pavilion to the Italian fashion industry. The project took inspiration in a collective of Italian high fashion images. The shape takes from the sharpness of a structural fashion, mixed with the delicacy of Italian pleating, reinforced by the twist. Valentino, in particular, inspired the material playing: the sensual, yet romantic contrast between transparency and solidity - the hard and the soft; united with the craftsmanship of the pleating allows the structure to fold just like an outfit. On the right, we express the homage references. Enhancing a name with lettering is a technique used by Italian brands, as a response, we are bringing to light (quite literally) one of the most important brand tags of the country: “made in Italy”. The user experience references two strong elements: the embroidery and the rose. The visitors read shortly about the industry and are asked to take a rose from the bouquet at the entrance and place it on the assigned punctures on the plastic pleating. Placing a rose is like stitching a fabric, and the collective of “stitches” form an embroidered pavilion, a tribute to the industry made by a collective of people. From the outside, the stems of the roses are a clue of what is happening inside, creating a texture/pattern inspired in Armani. The color - red - was chosen because it means passion, fire, sensuality & romance. It is a color that embodies much of Italian’s lifestyle and culture stands for, and has been widely used by Italian fashion designers. The elongated continuous shape evokes the sensation of a runway for a fashion show, and when mixed with the color red reminds us of the red carpet.

head over hills
head over hills young architects competition finalist colleagues individual type children's library Milano - 2018
Head over hills is a project for a children's library
that was a finalist in Young Architects Competition. The concept behind the project is a model in 1:1 of a mimic ked world inside a building. Englobing existing structures and respecting the surroundings, the idea is of a literary adventure one takes by entering the building. The topography inside mimics a hill where one can relax and enjoy a book, and the "narrator's walkaway" is a place where one can see everything and pick the next adventure. The playful arcs reflect the Italian's traditional context, and the choice of wood is based on the story of Pinocchio itself and the contrast of the arch structure VS the fragility of the wood.

The treehouse was a 3-week project designed for Unicredit. The requirements were: a structure that can be added inside their headquarters in Milan, as well as constructed in other outdoor environments; a feasible space, easy to build and transport, with a realistic budget that can be mass-produced (almost like an IKEA house); a flexible treehouse that would remind the workers of the forest.

Padu was designed to be a comfortable city from now to undefined days. It has all the amenities needed - shops, residences, commercial buildings, institutional and cultural experiences.

bolha MI Design Week Submission colleagues individual type product design Copenhagen - 2020
Indoor plant sales have boomed with younger generations. Plants are important for purifying the air, the calm and productive psychological effect, something to nurture and take care of. It is a mean to contrast urbanization and to connect with nature. Bolha is a self-irrigation system with a playful shape large "tank" to water the plant straight to the root based on the moisture of the soil. No overwatering or underwatering. Refill it when empty. Either if you overwater, don't water enough, travel often or simply do not want to think about how long ago you took care of your plants, the Bolha is a helpful system.

Almost all projects I worked at BIG are confidential and cannot be showcased just yet. Casa C (or Casa Corrego) was a project I devel-

They also asked for two equal rooms for their future children. This project was developed on ArchiCAD I participated in the production of concept; floor plans; section; renders and diagrams. The house is currently under construction.
