While local municipalities can still ban vacation rentals, all three Anna Maria Island cities are allowing rentals to reopen. “Vacation rental check-ins are now allowed in Anna Maria,” Anna Maria Mayor Dan Murphy said Thursday afternoon after reading the approved plan. BRADENTON BEACH – Four Bradenton Beach restaurants now have approval to expand their outdoor dining areas into parking spaces under to a new city ordinance assisting businesses with their COVID-19 economic recovery efforts. The Anna Maria Oyster Bar, Bridge Tender Inn, Daiquiri Deck and Wick-

ed Cantina are approved as of Friday, May 22 to use additional outdoor dining space as provided by the city commission’s adoption of Ordinance 20-516 on Thursday, May 21. The ordinance creates a temporary citywide allowance for additional outdoor dining, retail and business space for those whose applications are approved by city staff and Mayor John Chappie. As part of these efforts, several streetside parking spaces along the east end of Bridge Street have been cordoned off to provide businesses additional outdoor space to operate within.
