CONFERENCE BRANDING

DATE:

SPRING 2020

WHAT:

IFF is an annual conference that observes human motion and captures the innate connectivity of mind, body, and machine.

WHY:

If + only if describes a biconditional, logical connective between statements, systems working together, and parts of a whole. Significance is found in data iff we uncover its multidimensionality.

HOW:

Data exists everywhere and is often seen as cold and inhumane. The conference combines subjects of psychology, data visualization, and biomechanics to focus on the cyclical nature of data.

04_ROCK PAPER SCISSORS KIND:

PUBLICATION DESIGN

DATE:

SPRING 2020

WHAT:

ROCK PAPER SCISSORS is a zine about album covers. And origami. And cut-and-paste collage.

WHY:

Albums [rock], origami [paper], and collage [scissors] find intersection point in being malleable and always changing. Each is a summation of its pieces merging together.

HOW:

Many spreads feature a pictogram and a series of dotted and solid lines that function as directions for folding the zine into origami that corresponds with each album. Listening to the playlist guides the user through the zine.

05_GOOD EGG KIND:

BRANDING CONCEPT

DATE:

FALL 2020

WHAT:

The Good Egg is a quaint establishment that does two things: produce good eggs and give them to the community for free.

WHY:

Establishing trust between the consumer & producer is among top priority at any time. Doing so when the product is free is often more difficult and requires a level of transparency.

HOW:

The Portland farmers are candid in their language and use branding to describe exactly what they do. Good people care for good chickens to provide good eggs that are good food for good people.

CUSTOM TYPEFACE DESIGN

DATE:

FALL 2020

WHAT:

Waffle is both a sans & a serif typeface for everyday use, but with a fun twist.

WHY:

The structures of the apex & vertex are derivatives of the grooves found in a waffle maker appliance. Its friendly features feel approachable, yet strong.

HOW:

Its over-pronounced joins allow for ultimate legibility from a distance and interesting forms up-close. Waffle is complete with a full glyphs set that includespunctuation, numbers, symbols, ligatures, and diacritics.
