the water smart neighborhood During a study trip to the Philippines, i had the chance to visit several varieted places with many differences and qualities. i conducted some interviews with the local population and learned from this experience. i noticed a strong feeling of community, mutual aid, and joy of life in the neighborhoods. this aspect is an important feature that i took into account while developing this project. 9

From a climatic point of view i decided to work with the weather conditions of the philippines, characterized by a very dry and warm season followed by a wet season with heavy rain and risks of flooding. These two periodes lead to different lifestyles and potentials. in both cases, THey should be managed in order to improve the dwellers everyday life.

MOVING BRIDGE / VERTEBRA Conception of a moving bridge connecting two sides of a big three dimentional matrix containing all the students’ projects. This project has been published in the 1st year’s Yearbook 2011-12.

The basic concept of this project is to create a structure in analogy with a living organism. Indeed the whole bridge is able to move and to block its ‘‘vertebras’’ in a specific position, as a spinal column.
