01 PROJECTION DRAWINGS After creating a 3-D abstract model, the drawing on the right was done to represent a two point perspective of the model. The purpose was to use line weight and shading to construct an accurate representation of hierarchy in the model. The drawings on page five are representing four different views of the same 3-D model. The four views are plan, elevation, and two different sections. This representation shows an ability to use line weight to show hierarchy.

02 MAPPING The map to the right is a representation of Father Hennepin Park from a plan view. Different information on the map was displayed using textures and shading. On page seven, the historical map shows the importance of railroad tracks in 1937 using color and pattern. The context map shows the different uses of each street and path. The blue represents bikers, the pink represents walkers, skateboarders, runners, rollerbladers, etc. The use of shading shows the density of human activity on each path and road.

Historical map from 1937 representing railroad presence by using pattern.
Context map from 2018 representing trail use, and trail density using colors and textures.

03 SECTION ELEVATION This drawing is an accurate representation of the elevation of a certain section that cuts through Father Hennepin Park. This was a practice in using line weight and detail to show layers.

04 METAPHOR MODEL For this assignment, a classic piece of art was rendered as accurately as possible. A metaphor or theme was then pulled out of the piece to create a model. The theme for this piece was “Sanctuary.

05 ABSTRACT NATURE MODEL For this assignment, a sample of something from nature was studied closely and rendered as accurately as possible. The rendering was then abstracted, and turned into a landscape model.

06 ONE OBJECT SIXTY DRAWINGS This objective of this project was to draw the same object sixty different ways. After choosing twenty different representations, the sketches were categorized based on different media that was used to sketch them. This project was used to practice representation skills.
