Dear reader, The portfolio is an intensified collection of the work which has been paramount to me during my architectural practice. Natural forces, concerns for infrastructure and community building has been my primary points of interest. I hope to present the engagement I have along with the potential I see in creating interdependencies between architecture, politic and nature - and I look foreward to explore the fields further in my professional life ahead. #1 INVISIBLE CITY
TYPE/ AN ANTICIPATING ARCHITECTURE IN HAVANA, CUBA, 2018
The project propose an intervention which sees opportunities in understanding and performing risk. It does so in order to benefit from water, a resource that is highly sought after in Havana as well as making visible the qualities of water that cities are dependent on but rarely see, understand or celebrate. The key architectural elements of the project is an outer protective skin and a inner path for circulation. These interventions does not purely follow the logic of construction but subtracts part of an already crumbling residential structure on the cuban coastline. Invisible City departs from the Cuban conflicts of connected Local Communities and Urgent Coastal Defense, problematics that are also reflected in the UN Sustainability Goals no 11 and 13. Most of Havanas building mass is in a heavily decayed state. Impacted both of different water masses and changes in financial dynamics, the conditions on the coastline holds defense as a key question.
Our experience of risk and safety is highly affected by architecture and its states of decay. Situated in a conflict between construction and destruction, water plays an important role for buildings in Havana. While essential for agriculture, humans and cities, water is a force that we in several ways try to separate from build environments because of its destructive effects. The water is in itself not the problem, but possibly part of the solution. The premise becomes when the water comes. The attitude for sustainable coastline settlement does therefore not aim to escape decay - by either separation, rearrangement or protection. Instead the project propose an architecture that does not withstand water, but stages and desires it. It aims for a social robustness where a connection btw sea and the city during catastrophes become entry points to carve relations into the everyday.

Speculation in New Programmes
A future deterioration of both form and structure is still expected and the strategy of the project allows for this latent decay. It imagines a future that does not maintain the existing but work with gradual transformation of both building and programs.

Entrance and changing rooms for the baths. Accessed by the circulation ramp, the bathhouse facilitates a cleaning of the body and also a presentation of the watercirculation. Container, central pipes and bassins are key part of this system.
Apartments from the 2nd to 6th floor house the - from 200 in 1956 - now 24 remaining households. These inhabitants are the perminent residents of Riomar and carry out the daily operation of the bathhouse. In catastrophe situations they help preparing the building to respond to impacts.
A part of the water collected in the ramp is staged in the outpour into a bassin which afterwards let it gradually down to the sea.
The Path opens up to an auditoruim typology, where the incline of the ramp offsets levels for seating and gathering. This space is used for big group talks.
The indoskeleton holds a double circulation. A universal access for people accessing different programs and routes - and for water collected and circulated by the path too.
8
COLUMNS The low incline of the ramp requires a separate support system, which does not rely on the crumbeling construction of the old building. The columns structurrally holds the ramp, but are morphed as they meet the programmes of the lowerfloors. Here they become a part of the spacial experence of the life around the structure.
DOUBLE CIRCULATION The new infrastructure is the main acces to important community spaces, The Gathering Room, The Common Room and Bathing Facilities. Above providing access to specifc programmes the circulation is a path in itself and an experience route accesible for all people. The path circulaties humans, but also collects and transport water. When raining the path is filled with water collecting it through a sequence of interventions to end in the water tank for use in the bathing facilities for public use.

AN ANTICIPATING ARCHITECTURE The structure anticipates impact of decaying forces and positions itself in contact with it and prepares to recieve it. Both beneficial and not, the water is part of rythms at the coastline. Through the specific architectural elements; The Facade, The Bassins, The Fountain water is presented in new ways. SPATIAL INFRASTRUCTURE The ramp sets the structural as well as programmatic structures of Riomar. Providing acces opportunity to the important community facilities, the path also curates an experience through the building combined by impressions of the old building mass as also new programmes that attacth to the circulation. OLD TILES Reused for Bassins
New units grow from the ramp as the point of acces as also part of the construction logic. The infrastructure sets the parameters from which spaces and experiences form. The development of spaces can grow organicly and be executed in small scale using knowledge and material available along the way.
NEW TILE DESIGN Armouring the Southern Facade
ISOMETRIC DRAWING Spatial Organization and Circulation
The circulation structure paves a guided promenade through the crumbling building and ensures a universal access for everyone to the three main activities, bathing, sheltering and learning. In its circulation, the path cannot help strengthening some parts, while puncturing and weakening others. The columns upholding the ramp supports parts of the existing structure making it more rigid and resistant to deterioration and in other situations it is puncturing through climatic and structural parts determining these spaces to be more vulnerable.
9
The tile facade respond to rainwater and studies how the architecture tectonically perform this risk. Wrapped around the most dense parts of the activities is this protective ceramic armor. The design of the tile responds to its material qualities of protecting from water damage, but also suggest an affordable method in which to build and maintain. Structurally the tile has developed through considerations of how to guide water along the surface by slowing down, redirecting and absorbing water. Working with a 3D profile as well as giving the facade a slight sloping angle gives a greater surface for receiving the rain and effect of the guided route.
The Tile Facade Performing the Risk of Rainwater
The production of ceramic tiles follows an industrial logic aiming for a mass produced element with little individual characteristics and a line production thinking. The method of making uses the prescence and abscence of water in the clay, as its strength. By taking advantage of plasters ability to draw moist from a matter the tiles are cast with liquid clay in dry plaster forms. As minutes pass, the tile thickens from contactsurfaces. Different degrees of drying, burning and glazing are studied in order to achieve a membrane which, through its form, can guide waterflows and given its materiality absorb moist, delay drying and reflect differently. This clay armour respond well to the tropic environment and even without water present the roof-like structure connotes rain. An anticipation that makes water constantly present in the experience.

#2 WHILE WE WAIT
TYPE/ INFRASTRUCTURAL CORE, TBILISI, GEORGIA 2017
Our experience of time and space is affected by speed and modes of transport. Through time speed has equaled innovation, development and future. And the temporalities that we travel with today affect our experience of time. You enter a veichle at one place and shortly after exit in another. We trust the abstract transportation systems to carry us to our destination, but we actually know very little about how they work.
endings, connections but also offers the passengers a glimpse of the logistics behind the primary function of everyday transportation. The key theme at the station is ‘waiting’. While we wait we can fill out time with deliberate activities or we can be distracted. Though it is a public institution the busstation cultivates personal use of waiting time and celebrate the individual value of passengers within a collective.
This project situates itself in the urban context of Tbilisi, where the flow of the river and the main traffic arterie narrows together. Here, at Republic Square, there is a pause in the traffic flow - an underground busstation where city busses and everyday passengers meet. The busstation facilitates beginnings,
The dense traffic around Rustaveli Avenue is directed in three seperate flows allowing cars, busses and pedestrians to move in three different ways. The overground square forms a landscape for passengers and visitors

where they descend from the city scale into the underground. The square now functions as a roof, and plays a big part in allowing light and air to enter the station. The underworld is staged so that the processes of washing, cleaning and refilling the busses become an attraction - and possible distraction. Therefore pedestrians play parts as both passengers and visitors. Waiting time can be percieved as a waste of time. This feeling increases if there is no reason, no timeframe or nothing to do. The project aims to improve the possibilities of collective transport in a way that is flexible to individual choice.

Waiting time can be perceived a waste of time. It can feel almost unbearable to waste a few minutes, when there is nothing to do, if it is unjustified or shows no sign of progression. If accepted that waste can be substituted by dirt, waste is defined by anthropologist Mary Douglas in her book ‘Purity and Danger’. According to Douglas waste [dirt] is “matter out of place”. Waste is not an essence in itself but becomes so because 1 it is taken out of its circulation. Continuing with this definition waiting must be time out of circulation, a waste of time. The spectacular thing here, is that waiting as a waste of time adopts a negative connotation and in its nature strives to get back to circulation. It presupposes a strive for an absolute circulation and indicates an ideal of the frictionless society where time and space is distributed purely as functional. This paper aims to argue against the idea of pure functionalism and a circulation without friction. Perfect flows can sustain the already existing society structures, save a minute or two on the way to work, but for political potential to exist, disruptions are necessary. The two worlds of disruption and flows must not silence each other, but take part in one world where they coexist in their dissensus. It is in the tension between circulation and the disruption of circulation that the political happens.

#3 ON THE EDGE
TYPE/ INDUSTRIAL PRODUCTION, MJOLNAREHOLMEN, SWEDEN, 2015
Map drawn by hand, 190x190 cm. Accumolation as a working method.
16
On the Egde creates the spaces for an industrial beer production on the abandoned fleet area on the island MjĂślnareholmen. The production aims to make veterans visibile in the community and re-establish a connection to the city, while physically processing experiences too. The project allows temporary stays on the island, where returning soldiers meet the civile society in a shared industrial space. One delegetion carry out one half of the brewing cycle while handing over to the following unit.
The architectural strategy let tactile wood meet the hard rock and stonemass of the island. By transforming the old gunpowderhouse, guard housing and scouting bunker the new facilities of brewing, sleeping and reflecting are re-framed in an architecture of The solidarity is big part of what is hard to live without after a mission

#4 MAGIC APPLE TREE
TYPE/ COLUMN FOR AN EXHIBITION, 2014
This column takes the form of an apple tree, wich grows as it decomposes. The column examines temporality and decay, themes from field studies in former fleet cities; Venice, Karlskrona and Copenhagen. Onboard the warships were plants from all over the world, which as the ships and crew stepped on land in times of winter. The plant collection of Holmen is today a living ruin and warstory, which manages to rewrite itself.
When you plant a tree, it’s a promise to stay for a while
Around the base layer is a metal clamp, a machine that presses the foundation parts together. The tectonic is an extension of the method I have used to collect findings in the fleet areas. After gathering, pressing and referencing my findings they are now re-assembled in the machine. The metal clamp encapsules what has happened and sends a stroke further, out of which the stem and the fruit grows. It is important for the tree to have a flexible stem. Constructed as a clam too wherefore the less weight - the taller the tree. During an exhibition period the crown will loose weight and the tree will build itself up - by breaking itself

The urban house deals with a compact urban context in wich both professional and personal life unfolds. As the public moves horisontal in the street level, the personal sfere increses as one moves up vertical. The house is organized this way.
The difference in apartments causes a terrainean ascent, where different hights of staricase deliveres someone at every plateau. The light passes through the vertical garden and invites light into even the small urban apartments.
The building contains four small and five minimal apartments, wich shares a common vertical garden. In the suburb you arrive through a semi-private front

#6 COLONIAL HOUSE
TYPE/ SEASONAL HOUSING, 2013
This colonial house i a shrine. During the half year of winter it will be totally sealed and when the spring announces, it can open up. Due to the seasonal outdoor living, the colonial house offers little non-heated space indoor. The real living is outdoor in nature. Therefore the house can be opened up and fully used from the outside. The colonial house does not have any windows. The natural light as weel as the artificial appears from the light intake in the roof. Instead the shrine has shutters, that if left ajar, allows sound and smell to enter the little safe spot. When it is nescesary to stay indoors the vision of nature is not priority, the feeling of nature is.
22
Wintertime: The house is entirely closed. As a schrine, the house now has its minimum size.
Summertime: The house can open up. The moved shutters expand the living space into nature.

#7 THE HUMAN SCALE
TYPE/ EXPLORATION OF DAWING 1:1, 2012

RELATIVE POSITIONER

#9 FLOW DESIGN
TYPE/ DEVELOPMENT OF INTERIOR DESIGN AND NARRATIVE, PHA SLAGELSE 2019
Tydelige signaturer i gadebilledet

#10 LIMITED PARKING
TYPE/ RESEARCH AND PROCESS, PHA ROSKILDE 2019

#11 CHURCH ROOF RECONSTRUCTION TYPE/ PROJECT MANAGEMENT, COPENHAGEN 2019
Kalkningen foretages i to hele fag for at bibeholde en ensartet overflade pr. sektion.

and light to penetrade the dark base. Whereas access to the public designhouse is planned from the central old doors, the apartments on top access through side doors. Along these secondary facades are also delivery, fire-escapes, elevators and technical equipment located. The sloping roof draws maximum daylight into the dense warehouse and refines the landmark character for the harbourfront of Rotterdam, Katendrecht.
The koncept for the development was to firmly separate the addition from the existing. This two new storages is designed in a modern and light manner, placed on the firm brick base like a crown. In this way the new building draws attension but not only to itself mere than the spectacke of the old warehouse. GSPublisherVersion 0.2.100.24

#15 DEMOCRATIC MOSAIC
TYPE/ PAVILLION FOR FOLKEMØDET, ALLINGE 2019
Every two years, thousands of plastic election posters are produced, put up
across Denmark for a few weeks only,
then taken down and left disused. The posters contain political ideas for a
short time, but quickly become a burden to their makers. Yet after their short political campaign, they could be a
valuable resource to a different political project.
As a team of architects, we are interested in employing fewer materials and resources to produce buildings. As political architects we are also focused on designing democratic processes to develop meaningful projects. The Democratic Mosaic is a pavillion for the danish political fair Folkemøde 2019. With collected disused election posters from various candidates the project is the opportunity to gather political candidates around a shared concern, a common material, and to act upon it. The pavilion will firstly bring together all represented candidates through in its bare tectonic cross-party collaboration and secondly highlight the potential of the posters as a building resource. The aim is to transform the purpose of these posters from an individual race for votes, to a collective building and practice: rather than competing against each other, the posters in this pavillion will frame discussions around what it takes to build with alternative materials and methods. Placemaking. As a working bench, sitting bench and shademaker. 2019. BY.Works: Anne Arnbjerg, Camille Filbien, Levke M. Danker, Folkemødet Olympia Nouska and Tom I. Joseph

#16 INGRUTTATI PALERMO
TYPE/ INTERNATIONAL INTERDISCIPLINARY WORKSHOP, QANAT NETWORKS, PALERMO 2018
The appearance of underground water reveals itself in the ingruttaties and qanats of Palermo. Three particular underground spaces are juxtaposed in accurate measurable drawings and in narratives making visible the variety of different purposes, spacial extensions and histories of the easily unrecognizable.
Results of the workshop are exhibited in the Crypt of the Chiesa Parrocchiale, Santa Agnese – Piazza Danisinni from July 27th to November 4th 2018 Ingruttati Palermo was established by a group of twenty from the fields of architecture, urbanism, and fine arts as a part of the Manifesta’12 art biennale in Palermo.
The qanat network is a complex system that inter-links different places and concerns in Palermo. This system of complex knots and lines is reflected in the collaborative network approach practiced by the community in Danisinni. Self-organization and a common management of resources is key to finding an alternative way of regeneration. Our work was inspired by this complex system of interlinkages. The process of investigations was based on the belief in a collective intelligence and using a network approach to interlink collaborative work and thoughts.
Practitioners: Anne Arnbjerg (Denmark) Lucas Bartholl (Germany) Fiona Campbell (England) Manolo Larrosa Calderón (Mexico) Andreas Mallouris (Cyprus) Karolina Majewska (United States) Elke Reinhuber (Singapore) Felix de Rosen (United States) Pierangelo Scravaglieri (England) Mariana Manon Sepulveda (Mexico) Deborah Westmancoat (England) UNIPA students: Dario Annolino, Chiara Buscemi, Serafina Calcaterra, Enrica Gaia Consiglio, Gabriele Lupo, Rosa Marino (Sicily)

Qanat Danissini Cappuccini is the exit from a long gallery with a length about one kilometer and a half. The water flow is always less in the summer than in other periods where the volume of water is 4 to 5 litres per second - now [July] it is half a litre per second. It is a long gallery built by hand. We don’t know who constructed the gallery, possibly it was during the Roman period (6th and 7th centuries AD) or during the Arab domination of Palermo in 10th century. Pietro Todaro, 22.07.18
The Sirocco Room is carved from limestone. The qanat was originally used for drinking water and is ancient. The Sirocco room draws in cool air from the qanat and expells warm air, leaving the space at a markedly lower temperature. We don’t know how old it is but it was abandoned in 1920. For fourty years it was unused before the mafia started using it for trafficking, for dogfighting and as a safe house. In 1980 Judge Falcone gave it to ‘Palermo 16’ Scout Group after taking it from the mafia as a way of dissolving their power in the area. Scout members from Volpe Astuta; Giulia Ingrasci (18) and Giuseppe Tagliareni (17), 25.07.18
In this place there is not just a water source but also a plant to produce drinkable water. It is not necessary for the water from the source to be cleaned because it is very clear but the water from the lake must be processed. Now we don’t have that problem because the lake is totally dry due to a long period of hot weather. The water coming from this water source, the Gabrielle Otto is pumped up to a village called Rocca. When the water reaches this plant it is perfectly drinkable and then chlorine is added before it flows through pipes into the city. The various dimensions of pipes control the litres of water received per second. This water source carries 65 litres per second and is the most powerful of the 5 sources in Palermo. Spokesperson for Water Management Plant, Gabrielle, 23.07.18

#17 POLITICAL INFRASTRUCTURE
TYPE/ HOST OF WORKSHOP FOR A ONE PERSON SHELTER, COPENHAGEN 2018
The opportunity for the workshop arose from the waste material after the municipal election in autumn 2017; the election poster. This waste is produced through the processes of representational democracy in cyclic mechanisms, on national and municipal levels, every second year and give the physical outputs that become inputs for further processes. use production
This material input holds a potential, aiming for more than merely upcycling. #18 INFRASTRUCTURAL IDENTITY
TYPE/ MANHOLE COVERS AS AGENTS FOR STORYTELLING, HAVANA/COPENHAGEN 2017
City identities is often represented through skylines, iconic buildings and power institutions. Differet displays of the architectural essence of an area help solve the need for spacial belonging. Our attachments to family and place of birth are loosening, while clearer it seems this story of belonging is highly important. The infrastructure of our cities has potential beyond covering holes of the urban underground. Captivated by the generous refinement of water infrastructure this project draws footprints from manhole covers in Havana and Copenhagen. This invisible underworld keeps revealing new reffined compositions as small hints to an architecture we so rarely notice and acknowledge. By analogue printing a section of the cover in 1:1 a fragment the urban is re-staged now inside the home. So does the stuctures recieve a label of the exact coordination of its existence and become part of a narrative about a particular place and time in the world colouring a geographical identity. These are platforms for complex storytelling where materiality, geometry, ways of moving merge with culture and history patterns too.
