H9.1.1

Part 1 Your salon’s requirements for client preparation It is important to ensure that the client’s clothing is well protected before shampooing and conditioning hair. As a minimum it is recommended that the routine below is followed:

Work station • chair to be clean and dry, worktop to be clean and tidy and free from hair • products and equipment on display to be clean and free from dust and debris • tools to be cleaned and sterilised before use.

Client • clean gown to be placed on the client and properly secured • clean, waterproof shoulder cape to be placed over the client’s shoulders and tied in position • clean towel to be placed around the client’s shoulders and secured to prevent it from falling off. State your salon’s procedure for preparing clients for shampooing and conditioning.
