Rottefella’s apparel is based on our understanding of the body’s temperature regulating system. With that in mind, it became clear that the best solution is to combine different fabrics and layer them.
It all starts with the body. The body is an amazing biological machine, tailor made to move, and optimized for being outdoors. Whether you ski, hike, climb, run or bike, there are two main things that are important to enjoy your activities and performing at your best: staying dry and maintaining the right temperature. Rottefella’s core philosophy has been to assist the body to always operate in
a neutral position. This philosophy is also where we started when we started to develop our first garments. By striking a balance between warm and cold, while staying dry, we believe the body performs at its best. This way, you can enjoy being outdoors over longer periods of time.

We have used thermal body mapping to design a product that meets the needs of different parts of the body to increase comfort and performance. during outdoor activity.

Quality, technology and degree of innovation has been in focus when selecting partners and fabrics for our new collection. Many of the fabrics used in our collection are BluesignÂŽ certified. This eliminates harmful substances right from the beginning of the
manufacturing process and sets and controls standards for an environmentally friendly, safe and resource efficient production. While researching how the body regulates its temperatures, we realized that Rottefella garments would have to combine fabric panels, each with specific attributes, to help the body reach and maintain the optimal
temperature, while staying dry. By combining fabrics that are optimized for ventilation, wicking, insulation, compression and weather protection, and placing these fabrics in the right locations, Rottefella has created garments that are especially developed and designed to help people enjoy being outdoors even more. By transporting sweat away from the body, wicking, and keeping you comfortably warm while protecting you
from the elements, you can be able to be active outdoors regardless of your activity level, outdoors temperature and weather. In cooperation with our partners, PolartecÂŽ and Schoeller, both with decades of experience, we have combined what we believe are the best fabrics available, from natural wool fibers to highly technical synthetic fabrics.
Our goal has been to deliver thermal body mapped garments through three layers. By combining all three layers you reach the ideal effect for the season, environment and activity and achieve full effect of moisture management heat regulations, insulation and weather protection.
Letting warm air out is a key attribute to all garments used for outdoors activities. All Rottefella apparel utilize both ventilating fabrics, used in accordance with our thermal body mapping research, as well as more mechanical solutions, like strategically placed YKK®-zippers, to allow warm air to exit if you need to cool down.
Wicking is the ability of fabrics to move moisture away from the body and the fabric itself. This is the most important task of our first layer garments, Rottefella Dynamic half-zip, round neck and tights. Good wicking capabilities helps keep the body dry and cool even during activities. By using Polartec® PowerWool™, we utilize the various advantages of natural and synthetic fibers, moving sweat away from your body and keeping you dry.
Wearing warm clothing does not necessarily mean you are comfortable while doing activities. Rottefella’s second layer clothing, Impulse and Rapid jackets and the innovative Moment shorts, make sure you stay comfortable warm, without overheating. Finding this perfect temperature balance, in all weather conditions and during both static and dynamic activities, is the main task of our insulating garments.
Our first layer garments, Rottefella Dynamic, both half-zip, round neck and tights, provide compression on the lower arms and calves. Wearing tight, supportive garments during activities can help your performance. Wearing compression garments after sports and activities can apply the kind of pressure that has been proven to cut down on swelling and inflammation, making you less sore and recovering faster.
Outer layer garments, like Rottefella Tempo jackets and pants, are worn to protect you from the elements, rain, snow and wind. We use Polartec® Neo Shell® in our garments to make sure water and wind is stopped from reaching your body, without restricting the release of excess body heat and moisture vapors. A protective and durable shell, with advanced wicking capabilities, keeps moisture away from your body.
