“i want to build a pop-up”
WHAT IS PopArt?
4
PopArt is a short-term shopping experience, or a “pop-up shop”, created by Ann Kennedy for her Senior Capstone in graphic design at Iowa State University. She noticed that when talking to creators and artists in the college, most felt that there weren’t many options for them to promote their work in a fun, engaging way. Ann decided that it was time to change that while having some fun.

Pop-up retail, also known as pop-up store (pop-up shop in the UK, Australia and Ireland) or flash retailing, is a trend of opening short-term sales spaces in Canada, the United States,[1][2] the United Kingdom and Australia.[3] 6
what really is a pop-up? A pop-up shop is a short-term sale space that can take place anywhere, anytime. It can come in many shapes and sizes. Even large corporations, such as Target have held popup events, some lasting as long as a year. Usually, these pop-up shops are built structures that take up a space in a heavily trafficked area, but they can also occupy rented storefronts for a period of time.

In a successful retail environment, the product should have a very little part in whether or not the buyer decides to make a purchase!

03 mon ey As an artist myself, I understand the struggles of making a profit off of personal artwork. Many creators and artists I know don’t feel that there are any fun outlets for them to sell their work AND make a reasonable profit.
