Spent first six years in the same town (Rockville) where my great-grandfather still lived. After moving to Indianapolis, soon became a suburban pioneer (in Homecroft). After Southport High School, went to Butler University where majored journalism with minor in home ec -- I wanted to be a Home Furnishings Editor, and believe it or not, that's what I became at The Indianapolis News. Then with husband Doyle, tried my hand at parenthood (Rick and Mary). Reentered work force in p.r. and adv. (Caldwell VanRiper and University Place). That morphed into museum directorship.
