03 HEXA PENDANT LIGHT FOR OFFICE ENVRONMENT Productivity comes from the proper lighting of the work area. Luminaire plays an important role in psychological effect of humans. Academic Project March 2018 - April 2018 Luminaire Design
TREND ANALYSIS
TAIDA
AnalyZed upcoming trend at Stockholhm Furniture Fair (2018) with the TAIDA framework for thinking of future
Color - trend is going towards soft earthy and pastel colors in the furniture and interior industry
Material and Finish - Trend is towards felt material and matte finish on the metal and wooden materials also
Form and Style - Rounded and Geometric forms. Form and materials are selected to provide privacy for the users

ENVIRONMENT
There is limited care for the office luminares and it is affecting the mental health of the employees
Current trend is open and active offices. Main issue they face today is the NOISE DISTURBANCE because of open spaces.
FUNCTIONAL ANALYSIS Direct and indirect lighting Maximum glare reduction Horizontal luminance Lumens - >500 lm for office environment Proper lighting for the intended area Adaptable with ceiling panel variations Dimmable feature Turn able white light features Motion sensor for more efficiency Easy installation Acoustic panels sound absorption
HEXA - OFFICE LUMINAIRE
MOODBOARD Current trend is moving towards soft, fabric, patterns with minimum wood and metals, mostly with matte finish; which is clear from the Stockholm Furniture Fair. Earthy colors are mainly used; not that popped up in the environment. Research on office spaces reflects the importance of acoustic materials.
HEXA - OFFICE LUMINAIRE
IDEATIONS
modular pendent light direct and indirect lighting baffle acoustic panel
transparent lighting direct and indirect lighting
Final concept is the combination of two concepts having hexagonal pattern with acoustic cloud panels and transparent lighting element when powered off. The possibility of different patterns is one of the main featuresv of this design.
direct and indirect lighting convert able - both baffle and cloud acoustic panel
HEXA - OFFICE LUMINAIRE
FINAL DESIGN
Final design is Hexagonal shaped acoustic lighting; beauty of which is the hexagonal shape that is formed when the acoustic panels are attached to luminaire. Acoustic panels are coming in different colors based on the office interior. We can use the luminaire alone without acoustic panel.
HEXA - OFFICE LUMINAIRE
FEATURES
Adjustable slots are really necessary for office purposes. They mostly have ceiling panels which may vary depend on batch or supplier. This feature makes it easy to install; even a single worker can fix it without much help.
Based on the research value added features are included such as sdjustable slots and acoustic panels along with direct and indirect lighting.
Acoustic panels - Cloud panels are provided for better noise absorption in current type of offices. It is manufactured by fabric on injection molded base. Patterns in the panel is simple without much details. HEXA - OFFICE LUMINAIRE
HEXA - OFFICE LUMINAIRE
COMPONENTS Profile - aluminum - extruded End piece - aluminum - casted End cap - HDPE (Plastic) - injection moulding
Acoustic panel - fabric on PET Microprism louvre - acrylic - (beta Opti, delta) Driver cover - HDPE (Plastic) - injection moulding
PATTERNS AND COLORWAYS
Freedom to choose pattern according the office layout and interior

04 FLOAT wall mounted toaster Day starts with a toast. Toasters are one of the key products every kitchen will have. What if Delorean DMC is launching toaster to the market?
Academic Project Nov 2017 - Dec 2017 Home Appliance Design
PROJECT BRIEF “You are working at a famous design studio and you have been approached by a popular car company, they want you to design a toaster that can toast bread with a design language of one their car models.
TOASTER SCENARIO Hungry Wants to toast bread Insert bread to the slots Sets on the correct level of timing Presses to lower the bread Pops out toasted bread Eats :) FLOAT - TOASTER
RESEARCH By analyzing the customer research, the issues of existing toasters and expectations of new ones are numerous. In this world of limited space, a single purpose product like toaster needs to take less foot space. By making it wall mounted reduces the foot space as well as whole appearance of the kitchen.
FLOAT - TOASTER
ISSUES Difficult to toast small breads Difficulty in cleaning crumbs Burnt bread is common Hot metal body may cause accidents USER EXPECTATION Effective Ease of use Single purpose Deal time to be less Desired toast level Countertop product Consistency of toast To blend with environment

FLOAT - TOASTER
FORM ANALYSIS
As an inspiration the car I choose was Delorean DMC - 12. Which was a revolutionary in every perspective; in its design and style. It tried to change the existing trends in the market at that time. My approach towards the inspiration is not only the form of the car, But also the design philosophy of the Delorean DMC.

05 LOOP BOTTLE OPENER ART AND PURPOSE When art meets the art of drinking. This makes everything interesting.
Personal Project November 2014 Product Design
IDEATION AND PROTOTYPING
LOOP is inspired from the band which we can use for holding things. It is more ergonomic for the hands. The shape follows the function. The top edge gives you the provision for the thumb and the surface transformation in the back provides proper grip.
MATERIAL : THERMOCOLE
LOOP - BOTTLE OPENER
LOOP is made of cast steel with colorful coating. The overall form doesn’t look like opener. It is like an art piece with a purpose. The overall form gives a dynamic feel. It can be used as a key chain which makes it as a ‘purpose with beauty’.
