O

culus denotes a circular opening in the centre of a dome or in a wall. Originating in Antiquity, it is a feature of Byzantine and Neoclassical architecture. It is also known as an œil de boeuf from the French, or simply a “bull’s-eye” So, the eye was the seed giving birth to those architectural element then, so why can’t it be for watch in present time! Here I take the Dome shape incorporating the oculus & rings from the eye and further developing the plot for concept ideation. Keywords: Elegant + Geometric + Bold

Design a single gadget for Jam for his survival in his missi

Scenario

James Bond was sent on a mission to a remote and otherwise uninhabited Pacific island to kill an evil mastermind which, in typical Bond fashion, he did. Unfortunately, he is now marooned on this island with no way to escape until MI5 can send help. To make matters worse, in a final dastardly act, the evil mastermind managed to contaminate all of the island’s fresh water sources with a particularly nasty strain of virus. Bond must now rely on his wits, and the gadgets that Q lent him for this mission, to survive until help arrives.

21

“

mes Bond ion.

What is required to be done? To design a single gadget that could be critical in helping Bond survive. This gadget should be capable of harvesting toxic water from the contaminated sources, purifying it and dispensing it in measured quantities. It should also be capable of heating and cooling the purified water to suit Bond’s specific needs. Of course, it is also required to ensure that the gadget protects the purified water from getting recontaminated.

22

Mood Board/ Design Direction To guide the Styling of the Product Aesthetics:

Industrial Chic + Shophisticated Trendy + Expedition + Glamour Refined Key Words derived after analysing Q’s gadgets so far designed.

The Concept It is no secret now that Bond’s movies are famous for their jaw dropping multi utility gadgets laced with the most sophisticated technology out there from MI5. This makes One popular element of the James Bond franchise is the exotic equipment and vehicles he is assigned on his missions, which often prove to be critically useful. Keeping the same possible needs and on site requirements in focus this Q’UV gadget have been designed to be a life guard for him on the island before he gets rescued from MI5. Following are the key charecterstics which makes this gadget a class apart from the rest.

A. Key Function: Water Filteration 1. Based on UV radiation filteration technology, it can disinfect microbes as smallest as viruses spread over the island. 2. One single charge battery can light up UV lamp to disinfect water upto 50 treatments (45 seconds to disinfect one cycle of refill) 2. Smart Solar panel fused on exterior chrome provides power to recharge LIion 2400mah battery. 3. Heat Coil included to distill water for an efficient water treatment. 4. Thin Activated Carbon Fibre Membrane in the separating chamber and

B. Additional Life Saving Utilities: 1. Magnetic Compass t find direction. 2. Butane torch to lit fire to cook food/ camp fire for safety from wild animals, etc. (easy operation- simple press button operation) 3. GPS installed within: Creates Beep sound when MI5 help comes whithin a radius of 1500 metrs and vice-versa track down through MI5 officals. C. Advantages of the choosen form: 1. Adapted to ankle to wrist contour of the hand which camouflouge with body line when put on with the help of industrial grade elastic band (detachable).

2. Stream lined body with fine curves which projects fluidity and accentuate glamour quotient into overall look and feel. 3. Slide button for dispensing pure water adds up great user experience at difficult and occupied situations like climbing, etc. The button can be slided with the help of chin pressure without using another hand! 4. The overall form with frosted transclucent hard glass adds up gracious beauty into it. 5. The volume it takes in a way that the whole gadget can be hidden beneth jacket in case hiding it, is required.
