With a new year upon us, we recently sat down with our MMS Executive Director/ Nutewistoq, Troy Jerome. He shared his thoughts of the year ahead and also about the MMS Vision – “As an organization, we remain committed to creating an independent Mi’gmaq Government based on a Constitution that promotes and protects the rights, freedoms and well being of the L’nug.”
The 90-minute interview took place in his office at MMS, which is surrounded with Troy’s own drawings, important MMS Vision charts, ideas and some things that look like graffiti on the wall, but indeed makes sense once Troy explains it all. This issue captures all that. What may have been the most challenging was to capture and put into words Troy’s passion when sharing the strategic plan and the work laid out for 2015 and beyond.
