Pupils’ Easter treats

CHILDREN from Weston-onTrent have been given lots of springtime treats in the form of chocolate eggs – and actual eggs from which real live chicks emerged!

The village school’s PSFA (Parents, Staff and Friends Association) put on their traditional Easter scramble giving children the chance to take part in a village trail with a springtime theme

Nearly 100 children took part in the scramble on March 26, taking home a chocolate egg as a prize with the occasion raising more than £200 to support the school

The PSFA has also funded “Living Eggs” at the primary school, which hatched out into nine chicks, delighting children in each year group and allowing them to observe the creatures’ life cycle first hand.

All the chicks are destined to be re-homed
