2007 A-Day Game had ripple effect for UA

W

hen the University of Alabama football team finished stretching and individual drills, the players still didn’t have a full sense for what was going on around them at Bryant-Denny

Stadium. People were slowly, steadily coming in for last year’s A-Day Game. Like they would before any regular-season game, Crimson Tide players retreated into the north end zone locker room to make final preparations.

When they returned to the field roughly 20 minutes later, players couldn’t believe their eyes. The stadium was filling up to its capacity of 92,138, with latecomers about to be turned away, just to watch the Crimson Tide execute an offseason practice.
