"Right now, we have lost the physical experience of viewing and socializing around art. Some galleries have closed their doors, while many galleries are operating with limited hours of by appointment. Others have shifted their model completely to the online sphere. This time will also give birth to new ways of experiencing, exhibiting, and collecting art. As we proceed, much of our attention will continue to be redirected towards the digital realm. While this will be an inevitable shift across many industries, and necessary, I believe the art world will always demand our physical presence. A work of art completes itself in the context of space, and we attach meaning when we commune with it. Our visual culture is ignited by the visceral and sensorial, which is further shaped by the social experiences surrounding art.
As we move further into the digital space, we can never forget the importance of our tactile relationship to art."
