Madison Bouckville Antiques Week To Run Aug. 16 To 22 Shoppers Expected To Fill All 14 Show Fields For Weeklong New York State Event Madison Bouckville Antique Week, the upstate New York antiques festival, is expected to be the largest it has been in many years. The Monday to Sunday, Aug. 16 to 22, series of shows is expected to host nearly 2,000 exhibitors and many more thousands of shoppers. Madison Bouckville began about 40 years ago with a single show managed by Jock Hengst on a farm field behind the landmark tavern. Since the early success of that original field, many others joined the fun to where there are now 14 show fields operating on the short strip of Route 20 at this little country crossroads. Cider House Antique Show is the largest of the many exhibit fields held over the weekend, with over 150 exhibitors in their pavilion and tents. Jim and Ruth Dutcher have built this into the largest of the shows with great variety dominated by country Americana. Among the many other shops and fields also operating are Indian

Opening Acres, Mohawk Arms and Antiques, Cherry Valley Antiques Barn, East Expo, Butternut Hill Show Field and Whistle Post Antiques Show. Out Front Field will have its own show over the weekend but with a twist, as it will include an antique car show simultaneously. Field owner John Mancino has included this for several years now and says it increases the level of interest for the shoppers. The Depot is a shop open with regular hours, but it expands onto into the parking lot during Antique Week. Trading Post opens its lawn to many of its dealers with a tented area in front of their shop. There are several other shops that move out onto their lawn and parking lots with an overflow of antiques and décor. The week extends from the center of Bouckville on Route 20 east for about a mile toward Madison with a couple scattered show fields in that village as well. Hotel accommodations for exhibitors and shoppers are in Utica or Hamilton. There are also many camping sites in the area. For more information, visit www.madison bouckville.com for contact information regarding each field.

Madison Bouckville Antiques Week will be held Aug. 16 to 22 and will offer home furnishings and accessories along with a great variety of vintage collectibles.
