Original Works Of Art And Fine Estate Jewelry Will Headline Philip Weiss Auctions’ Jan. 11 Sale O

The sale will be held in the firm’s gallery located at 74 Merrick Road in Lynbrook, N.Y. Hundreds of fresh-to-the-market lots will be offered starting at 10 a.m. (EST). The artwork will be led by a mixed media on paper by Cy Twombly (1928-2011), whose spare, childlike scribbles left him out of step with the movements of post-war American art, even as he became one of the era’s most important painters. Also featured will be two works (a watercolorand-ink and an oil-on-board) by Giorgio De Chirico (1888-1978), the noted Greek-born pre-Surrealist painter.
