In all, over 300 lots crossed the auction block. “Despite not having a live preview due to COVID, the market response was very positive, with collectors showing their enthusiasm for great material,” said Peter Baker, an antiques dealer in Quebec who was retained by Miller & Miller to curate the auction. “It was stressful for serious collectors who were unable to handle the objects or get a sense of scale. But Marty Osler was well known for decades as a passionate and cautious buyer, so people had great trust in his eye and the objects he collected.” Baker added, “Many objects were squirreled away in Marty’s home, seeing daylight for the first time in decades. Antiques And Primitive Goods Show At Walker Homestead Outdoor Event Slated For June 19 Walker Homestead is hosting its Spring Antiques and Primitive Goods Show on Saturday, June 19, from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. The outdoor show will take place at 19 Martin Road, Brookfield, Mass. It will feature 40-plus reputable dealers in country antiques and quality handmade primitive goods from all over New England on Walker Homestead’s lawns and back fields. Now in its 12th year, the show is an anticipated twice-yearly event. Due to Covid-19 concerns, face masks and social distancing are required. D.C. Big Flea Antiques Market To Resume Full Show Schedule Next Show Will Be July 17 And 18

Show promotor Joan Sides is expecting a full house for the D.C. Big Flea and Antiques Market at Dulles Expo Center on July 17 and 18. Joan Sides announced the D.C. Big Flea Antiques Market will resume its show schedule beginning with Saturday and Sunday, July 17 and 18, and continuing through the year at the Dulles Expo Center’s 600-booth facility in Chantilly, Va. Weekend shoppers can expect great selections in antiques, fine art, home décor and early collectibles. This is a resumption of the very popular market event that has been on hiatus since March 2020. The D.C. Big Flea and Antiques Market has been held six times each year in this Washington suburban location, convenient to major highways and near Dulles Airport. The show has a reputation as the prime source for great collections of early Americana, European Antiques, art from around the world and great collectibles from all eras.
