Edward Curtis: 150 Masterpieces From The North American Indian New Exhibit Opens At The Muskegon Museum Of Art Marking the 150th anniversary of the birth of renowned photographer Edward Curtis, the Muskegon Museum of Art is exhibiting 150 photogravures from “The North American Indian,” Curtis’s monumental project comprised of 20 volumes of text and over 700 large portfolio prints that sought to catalogue the Native American tribes of the Western United States. The exhibition, titled “The 150th Anniversary of Edward Curtis: 150 Masterpieces from The North American Indian,” will run through Sunday, Sept. 9. The Muskegon Museum of Art is located at 296 W. Ceramic Arts Studio Collectors Convention Set For Aug. 25 Event To Take Place In Madison, Wis. CAS Collectors, the club for all those with an interest in the work of Ceramic Arts Studio, recently announced the date for its 2018 CAS Collectors Convention. This year’s event is scheduled for Saturday, Aug. 25, in Madison, Wis. The convention theme, “Ceramic Arts Studio: Decorating the Decades!” pays tribute to designer Betty Harrington and her many accomplished decorators. Their beautiful work resulted in fabulous figurines that span the decades. CAS creations brightened homes from coast to coast during the 1940s and ’50s, still brighten hearts today, and will continue to brighten collectors’ hearts for decades to come. From 9 a.m. to 3:30 p.m., convention attendees will take in the Wisconsin Pottery Association Show and Sale at the Alliant Energy Center. Later, all will gather at Madison’s Howard Johnson Plaza for the convention festivities. Activities and décor will center around a fun-filled tribute to the studio’s illustrious heritage. There’ll be party favors and take-home souvenirs, door prizes, and colorful centerpieces. Getting the evening underway will be a social hour and the popular “CAS on Display Contest,” for which all in attendance are invited to submit entries. A buffet dinner, raffle, and membership meeting will be followed by the club’s annual auction. Events will conclude with door prizes and the presentation of the 2018 CAS
