By Karl Pass On Saturday, Sept. 29, at 9 a.m., Horst Auctioneers will hold an onsite sale at Brooke Mansion in Birdsboro, Pa. The real estate, consisting of three acres and the threestory sandstone and cedar shake residence, will be offered at 1 p.m. The circa 1887 building was designed by architect Frank Furness and built by iron baron Edward Brooke II. The present owners are retiring from the bed and breakfast business, which is what

the mansion has been used as for the past 20 years. It retains over 95 percent of its original architectural features, such as a circular rosewood library, and has a total of 42 rooms. The contents to be sold include furniture, oriental rugs, artwork, and various household items. The mansion is located at 301 Washington St. in the Berks County town of Birdsboro and is in the Daniel Boone School District. For further details, call Horst Auctioneers at 717-738-3080.

Fall Antique And Bottle Show At Batsto Village Slated For Sept. 30 The annual Batsto Fall Antique, Glass, and Bottle Show will be held on Sunday, Sept 30. This show has been going on for more than 30 years and takes place in Batsto Village in Wharton State Forest at 31 Batsto Road in Hammonton, N.J. The show runs from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. and is sponsored by the Batsto Citizen Committee Inc. (BCCI), the oldest such friends or citizens

groups in New Jersey. The antiques dealers will have an array of glass and bottles, toys, tools, and all sorts of collectibles. There will be hundreds, if not thousands, of bottles from many time periods to look over and buy. Food trucks will be on-site during the show.
