Dr. Mead Shaffer Collection To Be Sold At Briggs Auction On Sept. 24 Early American Antiques A Staple Of Fine Offerings Briggs Auction is pleased to offer the Dr. Mead Shaffer collection of early American antiques on Friday, Sept. 24. Bidding is online only, through Briggs Auction’s Bid at Briggs platform and also through Live Auctioneers.com. Pre-auction/absentee bids will be accepted until 10 a.m. on the date of auction, when real-time online bidding will begin on both platforms. Dr. Shaffer, a resident of Garnet Valley, Delaware County, Pa., is a noted preservationist, historian and collector. The auction will include Shaffer’s extensive collection of Colonial and early American and regional antiques, hearth cookware, folk art and decorative arts and much more. It is now known as the Varden Conservation Area. In 1960, after college at Penn State and a stint in the Army as a veterinarian, he moved to Delaware County, where he opened his (still thriving) veterinary practice. Shortly after, he took up residence in a home on the ca. 1721 Booth farm in Bethel Township, also known as the Garret-BoothCheyney House, which he relished as much for its ties to Colonial America as the farmland itself. “I am obsessed with history,” said

Antiques And Primitive Goods Show Set For Walker Homestead On Sept. 25 Walker Homestead is hosting its fall Walker Homestead’s Antiques and Primitive Goods Show on Saturday, Sept. 25, from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. at 19 Martin Road, Brookfield, Mass. The show features 40-plus reputable dealers in country antiques and quality handmade primitive goods from all over New England on Walker Homestead’s lawns and back fields. Now in its 12th year, the show is an anticipated twice-yearly event. Face masks and social distancing may be required. Golden Nugget Antique Flea Market Announces Antique Model Train Show Date Event Will Take Place On Sept. 25 The Golden Nugget Antique Market, which has been rated one of the top 10 flea markets on the East Coast, recently announced it will host an antique model train show on Saturday, Sept. 25. The Golden Nugget is well known for expert dealers specializing in

antique furniture, art, and many collectibles such as coins, stamps, jewelry, vinyl records, depression glass and, of course, model trains. “Collectors have been urging us to have regular shows, so we are planning on a few train shows per year. We are excited to host our new
