Rich Penn To Present A Three-Day Collector Feast or many, autumn is a favorite time of year. The Midwest countryside starts to put on a crimson and o r a n g e wardrobe, and kitchens begin to take on the aroma of the traditional Thanksgiving feast for family and friends. The Rich Penn Auction event, scheduled for Friday through Sunday, Nov. 1 to 3, will be a feast in its own right. Several lifetimes of collecting will come to to the Iowa State Fairgrounds in Des Moines, Iowa, for a “Mammoth 3-Day Collector Feast.” The event will include the billiard collection of the late Steve Keesey, the Coca-Cola collection of the late Chuck Hardy, the Country Store collection of Alabama collectors Larry and Cathy Woodruff, the Black Americana collection of Greg and Anne Rosenak, the Petroliana collection of John Zimmer, and much, much, more - all offered without reserve. “This auction will be packed from beginning to end with one of the most diversified offerings we’ve ever had the privilege to sell. I have no doubt that our collector friends will find this one of the most fun auctions we’ve ever held,” said Penn. With over 2,000 lots, bidders will have many exciting choices. Country store collectors will be offered display cases and cabinets, signs, several seed counters, apothecary pieces, barbershop items, spool cabinets, coin-operated machines and hundreds of soda signs. And what’s a feast without adequate “spirits?” The W.H. Holmes Rye Whiskey & Wines five-gallon jug, from James Hamilton Pottery and decorated with a majestic eagle, will certainly make a strong statement at any festive table.
