Bessie Ann Herdt Bell

Bessie Bell, formerly of Sea Cli , Long Island, peacefully passed away on April 17, 2023, shortly before her 86th birthday.

Bess was born to Gilbert Herdt and Annette Brown Herdt, May 2, 1937, growing up in Glen Cove, the eldest of eight siblings. Bess graduated in 1955 from Sea Cli High School and from Katherine Gibbs School in 1956. For many years she was executive secretary to Attorney Joseph W. Muldoon of Glen Cove. Bess earned her bachelor’s degree from Adelphi University in 1971, after which she pursued her post graduate studies at the New York Center for Psychoanalytic Training, earning her professional certi cation in 2000. Bess was grati ed to have been able to help so many - providing counseling, psychotherapy, psychoanalysis and an empathetic shoulder through her practice which she maintained in Glenwood Landing.
