ashion is always pushing boundaries and raising eyebrows. Growing up most of us have had the experience of being questioned for our questionable outfit choices from our parents. Well, can’t blame them with key influencers wearing whatever haute couture is bold, baggy, with frills and revealing enough skin to want to hide your eyes from. Now take a moment and wonder what society would be like if you could wear whatever you want, no gender restrictions.

our thinking, “tried and tested, society just isnt ready to p rogress to this level and work out side of gendered marketing, luxury brands; Radimo and Official Rebrand are just some to test the waters and are on the watch list for unisex marketing. But what about more estabilished brands and the high street market?” Here are fashion hacks you may know or that are brand new to you on how to get away wearing the other genders clothes.

SUNGLASSES
A
n easy way to start is with sunglasses or eye wear in general. Its hard to comprehend why it’s gender marketed in the first place, do women really need the pink on the side and whats the reason men are limited to basic black and brown? Break the rules!

GLOVES
and proportions aside, glove designs are somewhat similar and lack distinction between men and women. At worst, women designs have frills or are avaliable only in pastel colours. Take full advantage!

SOCKS
I
ts no secret that men’s socks have that edge, usually they have pop culture designs, warmer, thicker, and the ladies with larger feet can finally rejoice. If you think about it, who can see your socks? Its your biggest secret, unless its your unlucky day and theres a spontenous gym practice. Unimaginable in your twenties i know. Heck, who cares. Wear pink, blue yellow, orange, cover them up them with your boots if you dont want to flaunt our flamboyence!

ome trainers are actually unisex, or perhaps have ambigious gender marketing. This may be a harder step for women with smaller feet, but online conversions may be your luck. This might not be possible for men, realistically i wouldnt expect you to fit into a be dazzled size 5.

SWEATERS
O
versized sweater is a beloved trend of our generation. Casual, but cool without looking hard, and no one can see that creased top underneath. Now your family, friends and peers can play a guessing game on what gender sweater you wear after taking this hot tip. You should go for it.

GRAPHIC T SHIRTS
G
raphic tees can be unisex which is nice for the occassion of concerts and festivals, if not, the only differences could be the siing as mens tops have a tendency to be longer and boxy. If the oversized look isn’t working pop the shirt in a dryer to transform it to your size.
TOPMAN MENS BLACK SNOOP DOGG T-SHIRT £20
collusion unisex long sleeved t shirt with front print £12
SCARVES
A
classic addition to an outfit, important for this season is the scarf. Scarves are rarely gender marketed, if so they are placed near the allocated accessories section either section. The differences are subtle, womens scarves do tend to have that obvious feminine touch, which of course isnt everyones style, and is why some women prefer the men’s scarf style. Bring edge to your style and wear tht scarf thats the “wrong” gender, to heck with it. And with that the list is concluded.
