As the title says, this is esentially straightforward. Wait a minute though, it is not that simple. This is not Didot, but it aims to be a sibling, or a cousin. Being a member of the Hylium family this surely retains the Didot structure. However, Sans is like the black sheep of the group. I guess the serifs were the ones making the difference. 15 pt / 18 pt

Let‘s say that this Typeface is a not a huge success by itself. I was not happy to design a sans serif, still I had to. It was born as a cheap counterpart to Hylium Alpha (serif). The initial process was really simple, "just remove the serifs“, I thought. However, it evolved a bit since then. It now has its own personality but, let‘s be honest, you have to like it. Hylium Sans does not perform well in small paragraphs, resulting unclear from a reading difficulty point of view. I did not scrap this project just because I had the obligation of delivering a sans serif typeface. Well, it still has its own usage though. Despite being quite different from its counterpart serif, Hylium Sans maintains quite an harmony. The variations in thickness let it stand out from other sans serif typefaces. Let‘s say it behaves like an hybrid between the two. The terminals are sharp but delicate at the same time, no redundant decoration but neither a boring structure. I hope you all can find an usage for this poor stray type. It is a bit tricky to work with, but I suggest its usage in quite big sized paragraphs. In that way, I am sure it can deliver a subtle strength, together with a delicate harmony.

Illustrator × Fontself The process of font-making starts by tracing the skeletron of the source typeface on Adobe Illustrator. Then, the serifs are being changed, as well as (lightly) the overall structure. Then the glyphs are merged and put in Fontself. Here the font-making process starts and might end as well. 12 pt / 14.5 pt

Glyphs Despite the fact the font might look fine at first, kerning and spacing are quite a pain in the a*s. Luckily, there is software like Glyphs which comes to the rescue. Once the font is imported, you can use scripts to automatically solve spacing issues. 12 pt / 14.5 pt
