You will be engulfed by a fragrant and golden sensation - the taste of pure luxury‌

olden Olive Oil is an extra virgin olive oil of the highest quality, infused with 24-carat edible gold flakes. It is produced in a limited annual edition of a total of 444 bottles. The exquisite glass bottle is placed inside a luxuriously crafted black lacquered wooden box that is protected by a small lock. The box is enrobed in a velvet pouch and has an accompanying ownership card, which identifies the unique number assigned to each product. The ownership card enables you to order a refill bottle of the Golden Olive Oil without the wooden box.

editerranean countries habitually use olive oil as their primary source of dietary fat for cooking and dressing foods. Nowadays, an increasing number of health food advocates propagate substituting extra-virgin olive oil for other types of fats. Olive oil can also serve as a natural food preservative, as well as a solid fat substitute in baking. When combining olive oil and food, the aroma and potency of the oil must be balanced with the other ingredients and their characteristics.

With approximately 6 million olive trees and the production capacity of nearly 7 million liters of olive oil, Croatia is the world’s 19th producer of olives and olive oils.

n Croatia, olive trees are cultivated along the entire stretch of the Adriatic coast and especially on its islands. Attracted by Croatia’s rich cultural heritage and unique natural beauty, tourists visiting the Adriatic Coast have a chance to enjoy magnificent views of its islands streaked with dry stone walls, within which lives the olive tree - the “Croatian gift from God”. Thanks to its many aficionados who cultivate indigenous olive varieties, Croatia boasts a number of unique and recognizable olive oils. Wherever you may find yourself on this magnificent coastal part of the Croatian Adriatic - bays, coves, islands or islets - in addition to the blueness of the Adriatic see, you will be surrounded by the silver surfaces of the Croatian olive groves. Sometimes they are newly planted orchards of a rectangular shape with well-defined boundaries, and sometimes they are ancient olive groves that have been standing there proudly since the beginning of time. Planted by forbears, grandfathers and great-grandfathers, they lie scattered around as monuments of days long past. However, even as such, with their unbridled silver treetops, they are rich and inimitable. These lush olive trees seem to speak of all the boras, fires, perils and penuries man has suffered. But they also speak of his pride, sprouting new offshoots and bearing fruits. Some of these olive trees have been around for more than a thousand and a half years, defying the strong winds and withstanding time. Namely, Croatia has ancient olive trees, amongst the world’s oldest. There is an archeological finding in the vicinity of the Dalmatian town of Split that provides proof of the antiquity of olive cultivation in this region: olive pits that date back to five centuries prior to the arrival of Greeks in this area.

Tasting notes: the olive oil is of the indigenous Istarska Bjelica (Bianchera Istriana) cultivar. It has a mild freshly mowed grass scent, with a taste of green olives, almonds, wild aspragus and chicory, a lightly piquant touch, a pleasant perception of bitterness, and a dried fruit ďŹ nish. Free fatty acids (FFA)-0,2%. Peroxide number - 2,50 mmol O2/kg

he olive oil used in Golden Olive Oil comes from the sun-bathed Croatian olive groves situated along the coastal area of Dalmatia and Istria. We exclusively use the indigenous varieties of extra virgin olive oils that are of the highest quality and are produced by renowned growers who have won numerous awards at International fairs and competitions. The olives are hand-picked and cold-pressed in modern olive oil processing facilities within just a couple of hours of their harvest. Due to lower processing temperatures, which preservs the richness of avours and the nutritional values, the resulting extra virgin olive oil is of the highest quality.

Pure metallic (elemental) gold is avorless, odorless, non-toxic and nonirritating when ingested and passes through the digestive system unchanged within 24 hours.

ver since the times of the Pharaohs in 2000 BC, gold has been considered as food able to win the favour of Gods. In Ancient Egypt, gold was used to decorate pharaoh tombs and sarcophagi, and to portray human bodies in the frescoes. However, ancient Egyptians weren’t the only people that used gold as votive food. For centuries, Oriental civilizations such as Japan have been using gold in the same context it is used today - as food and drink decoration. Some bottles of sake, a traditional Japanese alcoholic beverage, contain gold akes that are believed to improve health and wellbeing. In the mid 16th Century, European noblemen decorated their food with gold. Bread, oysters, quails and carps decorated with gold were served at banquets and weddings. In some European countries, gold as a food supplement became so common, that it had to be limited to two dishes per meal. Along with silver, gold was also consumed in the courts of the Indian Maharaja’s, during weddings and celebrations. The Indian mithai cookies are renowned for their gold and silver ingredients. Gold was consumed with a fruit gelee in other Asian countries as well. Gold was also used as a remedy complementary to aspirin to ease the pains of arthritis. As a food additive, edible gold is listed as E-175.

ll items used in assembling this product were handmade by 12 topnotch Croatian craftsmen (some of whom continue to nurture their traditional family trades stretching back to 1861). The majority of these crafts and the workshops are bordering on extinction - by including them in this process, we would like to entice these craftsmen to remain present on the market and hand down their passion and experience to new generations. Each part of the production process is strictly controlled to ensure adherence to the highest quality. In the end, the olive oil is hand-ďŹ lled and infused with gold. It takes 30 days and more than 120 hours to assemble one ďŹ nished product.

Advice - shake the bottle gently before use. It is best to keep the bottle of Golden Olive Oil in a wooden box or in a dry and dark place out of direct heat and sunlight.

e have embarked on an adventure that has been in existence for a long time - pairing olive oil with food. We have infused carefully selected extra virgin olive oils with 24 carat edible gold leafs. Because of this, Golden Olive Oil can be used in numerous ways. You may use it to decorate food; add it to vegetables and different meat dishes, such as game or ďŹ sh; or use it as a dressing for creamy soups and salads. It goes well with bitter chocolate cakes, mousses or ice cream. Golden Olive Oil does not alter the taste of food, but highlights its aroma and gives it a unique signature. Just a few drops of Golden Olive Oil drizzled over a ready-made dish will reveal an entirely different dimension of the meal.
