HOUSE EXTENSION
Plans The project is situated in a farm and consists in the extension of a house belonging to a couple of wine makers. The existent building was built firstly to support the winery activity and secondly to serve as a house. Lately the objective of the client is to remodel the existent old house of the farm and to live there. Because of this conditions, it was important to evaluate how the house extension would interact not just with the existent but also how it would interact with the old house. In fact the house extension would have to occupy part of the garden of the old house. Because of these conditions it was decided to dissimulate the house extension. As a way of doing it I decided to work with a fence that could define the terrain limits of the old house but also that could integrate and define the limits of the house extension.

HOUSE REHABILITATION
The idea The house, situated at the bottom of a hillside, was used for many years as familiar habitation on the 1st floor and as support to agriculture on the ground floor. The relationship with the surrounding environment is always direct and is made through a set of windows mostly situated in the north elevation of the house. The main objective of the project is the creation of intermediate spaces which could allow more privacy to the inhabitants as well as the creation of a system that permits the entrance of more light in the house. For this purpose it was decided to push the house until the exterior south wall and use the existent north wall of the house as a surface to reflect light. Between these two elements there is the new local to access the interior of the house.

INTERVENTION IN A VAULT
Details The door in a cemetery symbolically defines the separation between the world of the living and the dead. The door was intended to convey solidity and robustness, like the large tombstones of certain cultures of ancient times. If in a first time the cross is in an oblique position invoking the load of the cross by Christ, in a second time, already inside the vault, she acquires a vertical position by invoking the encounter with God.

Reduced to its minimum expression: a worker; a simple operation (a hole in the ground); and the setup of the necessary protections. The operation will last just long enough so as to generate the desired expectations and curiosity. On completion, the worker will start the same operation elsewhere, he will close the initial hole and disassemble the protections, resuming the operation on a new settlement. Thus will turn into a continuous process of permanent assembly and disassembly all over town.

THE (GREEN)HOUSE
The idea This Project aims to requalify a small house built for more than 50 years. The house is located in a rural zone it was also used as a place to support agriculture activities. Without any conditions to be used as a habitation it was decided to augment the house at the 1st floor level through the displacement of the southwest wall. Once the house was visually permeable by other houses, it was decided to create a free space between the old granite walls on the 1st floor and the new interior spaces. Like this there are always a layer between interior and exterior. Because the new building will be occupied by farmers, it was created a greenhouse at the top of the building.

The building location is at the end of the urban zone of espinho near the beach. For this reason it was necessary that this equipment works as a landmark at this point of the city. It was decided that the best position for the building would be at the end of the street near the beach. The different rooms are organized around courtyards and in the most part of the times receiving north light or indirect light so it can be created a good ambience for lecturing and other activities.

COLLECTIVE HOUSING IN PORTO
Location plan This collective housing project aims to address essentially to two points: firstly to enhance and consolidate the urban context in which it operates and secondly, to create housing typologies exceptions that could enhance the building. The shape of the building has much to do with the presence of the viaduct in which it exists. This element, not frequent in the urban scene, plays a unique role in this area of Porto. The strong circulation road that passes through it, "draws up" motion lines that influenced the design of the building. The sloping roof of the building generates typologies that allow the creation of garden terraces thereby diversifying the housing supply.

MAT Mouse Air TrackBall With Jaime Sarr贸
The MATmouse presented here meets all the requirements of its intended use and adds to their performances other forms of combined use. Proper ergonomics are also applied and the possibility of use with both hands it achieves the objectives defined as premises with a few pieces of easy production and simple assembly, so that the MAT is economical in its manufacture, functional and versatile in its performance, and competitive in market. The product, if produced in silicon, is presented as a very suitable option for data entry into machine tools. Besides the versatility of the material, it allows for the intensive use with high protection impact and exposure to liquids.

LED STREET LIGHT
Function and form are inseparable in this project. The street light consists of an aluminum structure made by extrusion process and is designed for being a single piece where all the other elements can be easily assembled. The design shape of this aluminum body was also considered to dissipate the heat generated by the light. The extrusion production also has the advantage of allowing different sizes without a significant augment in cost.
MATERIAL FUNCTION FORM
MAGNETIC TOASTER
The creation of a toaster that could be easily washed was one of the premises for this project. For this reason the system to generate heat is an induction instead of a common resistance system. With this, it was possible to split the toaster in two parts: one where all the electrical components and the magnetic field are situated and the other where the heat will be generated. This part is compost of two plates of iron covered by a layer of cork and a polymer.

MILLING PROCESS The project was oriented to the areas of Design and Architecture, and pretends to look for the interference between fields of design, academic research and business. This Unity should provide support to professionals and students in the specific problem of translating of its physical creative proposals, as well as developing a research agenda, related with the creative process and the physical representation of models.
