Looking at the re ections, the distortions of light that freely penetrates the myriad of convex lenses of rainwater drops on the windshield of my car, I see a new city; a new reality; everything transform into a dreamlike and poetic world.
The distortion of reality and the explosion and the scattering of light and colors spread and materialize and, the streets and some of its passers-by, the buildings, the vernacular constructions, the urban landscape as a whole merge, creating, without pity or mercy, the mystery of the life of this city and these people.
My intention in creating these images in this small book and the result they induce is fundamentally pictorial, of contruction of a narrative, but it is at the same time, emotional, in the hope that these same feelings will sprout in the minds of those who appreciate them.
this small book is dedicated to the photographer and curator Roberto Cecato (São Paulo, SP) for the teachings passed on in these last two years of participation in the (photo club) Foto Web Academy and in the di erent classes of two mentorships that I actively participated in and for his contagious dedicated enthusiasm to photography and art.

Olhando os re exos, as distorções que a luz sofre ao penetrar livremente na miríade de lentes convexas das gotas de água da chuva do para-brisa de meu carro vejo uma nova cidade; uma nova realidade; tudo se transforma em um mundo onírico e poético.
A distorção da realidade e a explosão e o espalhamento de luzes e cores difundem-se e se materializam e, as ruas e alguns de seus transeuntes, os edifícios, as construções vernaculares, a paisagem urbana como um todo fundem-se criando, sem dó nem piedade, o mistério da vida dessa cidade e dessas pessoas.
Minha intenção na criação das imagens desse pequeno livro e o resultado a que elas induzem tem principalmente, cunho pictorial, de construção de uma narrativa, mas é ao mesmo tempo, emocional, na esperança que esses mesmos sentimentos brotem na mente de quem as aprecie.
este pequeno livro é dedicado ao fotógrafo e curador Roberto Cecato (São Paulo, SP) pelos ensinamentos transmitidos nesses últimos dois anos de participação no foto clube Foto Web Academy e nas diversas aulas de duas mentorias que ativamente participei e pelo seu contagiante entusiasmo dedicado à fotogra a e à arte.

In all stages of my life I have always been very attentive to the rains. In childhood and adolescence, I couldn't explain (and I still don't know after so many years) my fascination, in the rural area where I lived, in seeing, feeling the rains that were, for me, a mixture of great fun and enchantment. I grew up and this enchantment also grew. As an adult, on many trips through the Amazon, I was enchanted by the various rains that came and went when navigating large rivers and lakes. Living abroad for several years, I had the feeling that in these Nordic countries ‘it doesn't rain' like here. And I missed our tropical rains.
I never considered myself a photographer, but I've always lived as a photographer because I've always loved photography, I've been taking pictures since I was a teenager. But, I rarely photographed the rains. Until very recently I gave vent to this dream. As I live in a medium-sized city in the interior of the state of São Paulo (Brasil), I decided to ‘look at the city in the rain' and show this look in a way that I see its streets, some of its buildings and how I love the rain. This is a project that you could say is strictly a street photography project!
This project is called 'dissolvências' (a title coined by the photographer, photography educator and curator Roberto Cecato, São Paulo, SP) as they result in uid images reminiscent of watercolors or with touches of impressionism and abstractionism (according to this curator).
The colors and lights of these images express to me the magic of rain, my enchantment with rain, and it is a declaration of love for the city where I live.
I like these images for the visual impact they cause on a rst approximation, which I hope they can also awaken emotion in people (as they do for me).

Em todas as etapas de minha vida sempre fui muito atento às chuvas. Na infância e adolescência não sabia explicar (e ainda não sei depois de tantos anos) meu fascínio, na zona rural onde morava, em ver, sentir as chuvas que eram, para mim, uma mistura de grande diversão e encantamento. Cresci e este encantamento também cresceu. Já adulto, em muitas viagens pela Amazônia, encantavam-me as várias chuvas que iam-e-vinham admirando-as quando navegava por grandes rios e lagos. Vivendo no exterior por vários anos tinha o sentimento de que nesses países nórdicos ‘não se faz chuva’ como aqui! E sentia saudades de nossas chuvas tropicais!
Nunca me considerei um fotógrafo, mas sempre vivi como um fotógrafo pois sempre adorei a fotogra a, z fotogra as desde minha adolescência. Mas, poucas vezes fotografei as chuvas. Até que muito recentemente dei vazão a este sonho. Como vivo em uma cidade mediana do interior do estado de São Paulo resolvi ‘olhar a cidade na chuva’ e mostrar esse olhar de um modo como a vejo suas ruas, alguns de seus edifícios e como me encanta a chuva. Este é um projeto que pode-se dizer que é um projeto de fotogra a de rua estritamente!

Esse projeto chama-se ‘dissolvências’ (título cunhado pelo fotógrafo, educador em fotogra a e curador Roberto Cecato, São Paulo, SP) dado que resultam em imagens uídas que remetem às aquarelas ou com toques de impressionismo e abstracionismo (segundo as próprias palavras deste curador).
As cores e luzes destas imagens expressam para mim a magia da chuva, meu encantamento pela chuva e, é uma declaração de amor à cidade onde vivo.
Gosto dessas imagens pelo impacto visual que causam em uma primeira aproximação, que oxalá, possam elas também despertar emoção nas pessoas (como à mim emocionam).

O projeto que culminou neste livro teve início com as chuvas de verão em nais de 2022 e se bene cou das pequenas apresentações na mentoria desenvolvida com o fotógrafo e curador Roberto Cecato (São Paulo, SP) bem como das reuniões semanais do recém criado Foto Web Academy das quais participo.
