Roslyn High School hosted their Senior Departmental Awards on Wednesday, May 24 in the auditorium. Teachers presented students individual awards in the categories of business, science, social studies, art, math, English, music, drama, and world languages.

Fifth Annual Pitch Night
Roslyn School District hosted their fifth annual INCubator Pitch Night at Roslyn Middle School on the evening of May 17. High school teams work hard all year to develop a business plan and fine-tune their presentation skills in order to make their pitch to the “Roslyn Sharks.” First place went to the creators of Selfless (Anna Feinberg, Allena Kim, Kevin Li, Noah Stichweh, David Sun, and Trevor Yong).

North Hempstead Town Supervisor Jennifer DeSena and the Town Board are pleased to once again partner with the Long Island Nets to host four free basketball clinics throughout the Town this summer.

“The Town is pleased to be partnering with the Long Island Nets to host these clinics for our residents,” Supervisor DeSena said. “Kids who attend these clinics will be able to pick up new tips and skills from future basketball stars themselves, as the Long Island Nets are the NBA G League affiliate team of the Brooklyn Nets!”
The clinics are designed for children, pre-registration is required, and attendees must be residents of the Town of North Hempstead.
Clinics will include:
Friday, July 21 from 6 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. at Whitney Pond Park (981 Northern Boulevard, Manhasset)
Saturday, July 29 from 10:30 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. at Broadway Park (151
Broadway, New Hyde Park)
Saturday, Aug. 26 from 10:30 a.m. to 12 p.m. at Donald Street Park (Donald Street, Roslyn)
All basketball clinics are designed for children ages 8 through 14. Space is limited. To register for the clinic, please visit: longisland.gleague.nba.com/long-island

Three Vikings Varsity Women
Golfers Qualify For Nassau County Tournament
Congratulations to three North Shore varsity women golfers including Julia Kiser, Bri Giugliano, and Sophia Bongiorno who qualified to play in the Nassau County Tournament in Bethpage on Monday, May 22, 2023.
Coach Kevin Dahill said, “We were so happy to have three girls qualify for the County tournament this year at Bethpage. This is a huge accomplishment for our girls and our golf program in general. In recent years, there has been tremendous growth in the women’s game and North Shore is happy to be a part of that. Our girls compete at the highest level and share a passion for the game that they will carry with them for a long time. I am so proud of what Bri, Julia and Sophia were able to achieve.”
The North Shore varsity women’s golf team consists of nine golfers. The team finished the season 3-7 in the most competitive conference in Nassau County. Seniors on the team include Tara Hynes and Rosie Hortsmann. Julia Kiser and Bri Giugliano both qualified for the Nassau County tournament with a season scoring average of 47, while Sophia Bongiorno (a ninth-grader) qualified with a season scoring average of 49. The tournament was held at Bethpage Yellow. Congratulations to all of the girls and Coach Dahill for such a successful year. Go Vikings Go!
