Industrial Vibration Isolation

Mounted Springs Free Standing Isolators (FDS) FDS are free-standing, unhoused, large diameter, laterally stable steel springs contained in an upper load plate/ levelling assembly and lower load plate/noise pad assembly, for control of high frequency vibration. They are also available as an all-welded unit for bolt-down applications. FDS spring isolators are designed for spring deflection ranges from 18 mm to 100 mm with load capacity up to 10,500 kgs. FDS spring isolators are recommended for isolation of floor-mounted refrigeration compressors, pumps, packaged air handlers, airconditioning equipment, centrifugal and axial fans, and internal combustion engines. For equipment that is subject to weight change or high wind loads, we have Restrained Spring Isolators. FDS1 Spring Isolator

FDS2 Spring Isolator

Restrain Isolators (FLS) Model FLS vibration isolators consist of free-standing, large diameter, laterally stable steel springs assembled into welded steel housing assemblies. It is fabricated to limit vertical movement of the isolated equipment, if the equipment loads are reduced, or if the equipment is subjected to large external forces. The housings also provide a constant free and operating height to facilitate installation. Spring elements are complete with internal noise isolation pads and have an adjusting and leveling bolt as a part of the top load plate assembly. Holes are provided in all isolators for bolting to the structure and to the supported equipment. The isolator can be welded to the structure as well. To assure stability, the springs have lateral spring stiffness greater than 1.2 times the rated vertical stiffness, and are designed to provide a minimum of 50 per cent overload capacity. Kinetics Model FLS vertically restrained spring isolation mounts are recommended as a noise and vibration isolator for mechanical equipment located near critically quiet areas, where the equipment to be isolated has significant changes of weight during maintenance operations, and for equipment subjected to external forces or high wind loads.

Mounted Glassfibre Pads Glassfibre Isolators (KIP) Any equipment either rotor or stator will have its own CS (critical speed) or natural frequency which, when excited, results in structureborne vibration and airborne noise in the building. By designing the rotor, we can minimize or ensure the equipment operates below or higher to its critical speed. But that is an ideal situation. A quick solution for currently operating equipment is to avoid such noise/ vibration issues with a product called ‘pad isolators’. Anutone’s Noizkon division has extensive expertise and experience in designing and manufacturing innovative products to control noise/vibration in technical collaboration with Kinetics USA, and pad isolators is one of them, distinct from neoprene or spring isolators. Pad isolators are precompressed, moulded glassfibre-based cubes that can be incorporated into innovative floor isolation systems.

Project Solutions Ask for project solutions with Anutone-Kinetics KIP products. Offering the broadest range of isolators of any company in the industry, we design and engineer product solutions for: • HVAC equipment and piping • Industrial machinery • Decoupling of generated noise (source) to structure (receiver)

Available in a range of load rating and vibration isolation efficiency, pad isolations from Anutone-Kinetics are extensively researched, tested and proven at project sites.

Glassfibre Vibration Isolator (AC) Model AC Glassfibre Isolators can be used for any application requiring isolation of audible frequency vibration or noise, or for vibration isolation of mechanical equipment with lowest operating speeds of 1750 rpm when mounted on a grade supported slab or pier. Model AC isolators are typically used when the predictable dynamic response and permanent load support characteristics of glassfibre are desired in conjunction with a bolt-down and vertical lift control feature. Special application of Model AC isolators include use as both an isolator and wind lift holddown support for isolated precast concrete roof systems used to reduce transmitted noise from fly-over aircraft. • Inorganic glassfibre media • Load capacities 18~409kg • Rated static deflection 4~18mm • Steel load transfer plate • Steel bolt and hold-down support bracket • Ideal for of utility ventilating fans, vane axial fans, motors

Mounted Neoprene Pads Neoprene Vibration Isolators (RD) Kinetics Model RD neoprene isolation mounts can be used to isolate noise and high frequency vibration generated by mechanical equipment located on a gradesupported structural slab or pier. Typical applications of Model RD neoprene isolators are limited to isolation of mechanical equipment having the lowest operating speeds of 1750 RPM when located on a grade-supported slab or pier, and include close-coupled pumps with motors of 5 H.P. or less, small vent sets, low pressure packaged airhandling units, and similar equipment types. Model RD neoprene isolation mounts can also be used for isolation of mechanical equipment specified to be supported by neoprene rubber or elastomer isolators and with tabulated minimum static deflection up to 13 mm. • Moulded neoprene • Cast-in tapped steel load plate • Cast-in drilled steel anchor/base plate • Load capacities 25~1814 kg • Static deflection up to 13 mm • Ideal for all air handling units

Flexoply Isolation Pads (NDF) Model NDF Flexoply isolation pads are a laminated neoprene and cotton duck fabric isolation material developed for use in highly loaded, shock and vibration isolation applications. Model NDF Flexoply pads utilize 64 layers per inch (2.6 layers per mm) thickness of laminated neoprene and duck fabric, which allows absorption of shock and vibration by movement of the neoprene in and out of the fabric layers. • Laminated neoprene and cotton fabric • Loading capacity upto 703 kgs/cm2 • Suitable for ball mills, broaching machines, crane rails, crushers

Suspended Isolators Spring and Glassfibre Isolation Hanger (SFH) Kinetics Model SFH hangers are recommended for use near critically quiet areas for isolating any suspended source of both audible and inaudible noise and vibration. Suspended mechanical equipment such as in-line fans, cabinet fans, and piping and ductwork in close proximity to mechanical equipment are typical uses of Model SFH hangers. High sound transmission loss ceiling systems can be effectively isolated by the use of Model SFH hangers in the ceiling suspension system. This hanger model is particularly suitable for use in isolated ceiling systems used to shield spaces from mechanical equipment rooms, flyover aircraft, and similar sound isolation involving predominantly low frequency noise. • Spring with pre-compressed moulded glassfibre • Polyester powder-coated bracket and spring coil • Self-centering cap • Deflections 26~56mm and 104~112mm • Load capacities 16~1747 kg • Suitable for AHU ducts and piping

Spring and Neoprene Isolation Hanger (SRH) Model SRH hangers are used to isolate suspended sources of both noise and vibration. Suspended mechanical equipment such as in-line fans, cabinet fans, and piping and ductwork in close proximity to mechanical equipment are typical uses of Model SRH hangers. In noise sensitive areas, the pipe hangers selected should have the same deflection as that specified for the equipment isolation and all piping in the building should be isolated. High sound transmission loss ceiling systems can be isolated by the use of Model SRH hangers in the ceiling suspension system. • Spring neoprene pad • Self-centering cap • Deflection 30~61mm • Load capacities 16~1588kg • Suitable for AHU ducts and piping
